Help with chest acne scars

Hey all, I could really use some recommendations on how to fix this. I have some pretty bad scarring on my chest from cystic acne.

So far, I've got the area stabilized using retinoids (Fabior and then Retin A) and I've done one session of microneedling with the Derminator that seemed to improve things slightly. The scarring is slightly depressed and hard/rubbery in texture compared to normal skin. I have considered subcision but haven't had it done yet.The scars also seem to change color often with them being quite red at times (as in the picture) and at others almost blending in with the surrounding skin, which I don't fully understand (is there an explanation for this? could it be related to allergies?).

Apologies for the hairiness. I'm usually better groomed but I was using this picture to demonstrate the follicle loss to a hair transplant specialist; my plan is to get follicles transplanted in once I get the scar tissue to a better place.

Appreciate the help!

Dont apologize for your natural body hair! The redness looks like post-inflammatory erythema. Try a topical niacinamide for this. You can get this cheaply via The Ordinary.

Definitely get an expert dermatologist opinion as well.

At least your chest hair hides the scarring lol

Anyway, yeah. Subcision. I had it on body scarring, and it helped 30-60% depending on the scar. You should start there, if ur scarring is pitted/depressed.

These are Keloids or Vitiligo (a consult in person is needed with a derm). Related to hormonal issues, genetics, gut issues or sensitivities, some get them after Accutane. Body scarring is very hard to treat. IT does not heal like the face. Thicker skin, less vascular, etc.

I Don't see in the picture you need subcision. But if your provider feels it's appropriate discuss with them. You need to goto someone who treats body scars often. Ask them how many cases of body scars do you treat, how often. Many general derms would be clueless.

Rubbery they are simply going to do laser here to soften it with some steroids.

IF the scars are"red" you need pulse dye laser on them for this. IT's a vascular issue and this will help blend them.

IF you want to try to match the hair there is tattooing(Google SMP tatooing) which replicates hair that could blend these spots as I don't think donor transplant would take. This may be a more viable option as your hair cover this issue.
