@Perfectionist Were getting into the area of General Dermatology away from scars 😉 I always suggest you see a dermatologist if you have dermatitus. This is a condition they treat with steroids, anti-biotics, and

Dermatitus can be caused by allergens such as food, chemicals, perfumes, pets, and cosmetics that cause a reaction. Some get allergy tested if they have this ongoing. Fungus can also be a cause or other health conditions. Nizoral shampoo or zinc soaps can help. Buy products without any fragrance or excessive ingredients. Things that are simple for sensitive skin like cerave, eucerin, aveno makes some products for exzema. Baby products are also safe.Weak acid solutions (lemon juice, vinegar) can be used to counteract the effects of dermatitis contracted by exposure to basic irritants. The cause must be found with a Dr.

Other than the laser options that you recommended, are there any products that you recommend for redness? I see that you recommended PCA Skin Pigment Gel HQ free, would this also work for existing redness? Thanks!

@PerfectionistTry Niacinamide, peels for hyperpigmentation, vitamin c serum, retinoid, ... be aware it's a wound, as such it may take time to heal up to a year, ... if you don't want to do laser it will take you longer. The pca gel has some ingredients to deal with redness and hyperpigmentaiton.

Hi @beautifulambition

Are there any lasers that you recommend for stubborn hypertrophic scars as a result of cystic acne? I've used silicone scar sheets and had cortisone injections on the hypertrophic scars, some hypertrophic scars responded well, but I still have some remaining hypertrophic scars that don't respond to silicone scar sheets/cortisone injections. Thanks!

@PerfectionistThis topic is in the wrong section, it needs to be in hypertrophic scars sub. Laser's don't fix scars, they are just a tool. SEe a board certified DR ask for b&a pics, how many they have treated like you, and how they would treat, you can see a few. Typically steriod injections are needed. Coristone injections do work, ... they have to be strong enough and can take a few if weak. Your other options are excision or cutting them out. Laser combine with steriod. and various other shaving techniques with the excess tissue.
