Hi ,

I am AJ , I'm from India . I had the trio procedure twice with Dr. Rullan and after that I had a phenol peel.
My age is around 31 and I have skin type V (brown skin) .

I got the phenol peel done on August 31st and September 1st 2022 . It's been around 5+ months and my skin is very blotchy and there are hyperpigmented spots some places and there is a clear difference around the jaw line still .

I am really worried that I am not going to get back my pigmentation to brown skin again . I have couple of questions ,

1. Does the demarcation line fade a way or due always see hypopigmentation with that of your neck skin ?

2 . Has anyone with Indian skin type done this procedure and able to recover the color completely ? How long does it take to get back the pigmentation ?

Given that I'm around 6 months I still visible hypopigmentation everywhere .

Attached are my photos can anyone let me know whether there will be some long term pigmentation issues for skin type V and how long does it take to recover usually for skin type V.

Dr. Rullan mentioned it takes around 6 months , but I am no where near to get back to my pigmentation on neck.

This is the current level of pigmentation difference I have around jawline .
I have psuedo hypopigmentation all over face , expecially over jawline and cheeks.

Currently I am around 5 months and 15 days after phenol peel

Hi, do you see changes these days? Did the pigment issue improve? Btw, are you still seeing skin improvement for acne scars after 6 months?

Up to 20% of people experience long-term (more than 6 months) skin redness, but in your case it looks a little like it's not so much redness as it is skin lightening.

I'd ask the same question as @Froyosh. Are you noticing changes still? Is it slowly imporving? If it's improving, it may just take patience.

Yeah I am having hypopigmentation , the difference between my facial skin and neck skin is too much. Just wanted to ask if any experienced the same and how long did it take for someone to completely recover.

I am seeing very slow improvements. Dr. Rullan mentioned it can take 1-2 years in my case.

You can use some brightening cream to reduce the dark spots and brighten the overall complexion. Something like Vitamin C or hydroquinone.

In the mean time, also use a tinted sunscreen. This will help blend and even out the color. The stuff under the chin doesn't look that bad imo, tinted sunscreen can help.

What does your skin care routine look like? Mild cleanser. Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, sunscreen in AM. Tretinoin/hydroquinone, moisturizer in PM.

The deep peel greatly damages the skin and the cells that produce pigment so your skin produces less pigment and is lighter. Also consider some lasers like Picosure or Pulse Dye Laser for the pigment issues. I know this costs more money but it's part of the risks for darker skin.

In terms of acne scars though, did you feel that it helped significantly in improving skin texture?
