So, iam 17 and i have acne. But every pimple infront of face does heal in good time. but after pimples on sides i have red marks... Its driving me crazy and destroying my life. I dont have lot of active pimples. i mean maybe less than my other friends but they HEAL. So i have like 1 pimple on side of my face in 2 weeks but it always left MARK!!!!! and it will not dissappear. photos attached ! Should i take laser? Will it go ever away on its own? Isnt something wrong in my body that i dont heal marks only on sides of my face?
Now iam using azelaic acid but it didnt stop more acne incoming iam using it 15 days with totally no results just even more marks should i stay with it or change? I heard BP is best but i heard that it worsen marks too... what is true? thanks for any help. Sorry for my english
PS: maybe you will say its not that bad be happy! it could be worse! But even if its not that bad it doesnt mean that its not destroying me ! (
Hello! don´t worry too much, they look superficial, during the day you should wear sunscreen and avoid sunbathing, your skin seems to have a clear colour and you need to take care of it. There are some treatments that you could try, tipicaly people who use The Regimen add a product with AHA that helps with the scars, these products make you a peeling little by little and improves the hyperpigmentation. I think BP does not make scars worst, I have been using it for two weeks and not only improved my acne, but the general tone of my skin looks better probably when using it you could have more irritation at first and look worse, but you need to use tons of moisturizer and your skin will calm.
Scars use to need a long time to heal, so if you decide to use a product you need to do it for a long period before seeing the results, be pacient, in the worst situation you still could think of professional treatments like peelings.
Thanks. I have had two chemical peels 40% and 50% then. It cleared some scar so now i have smooth skin but didnt help to reduce red colour and thats what i hate most! I want Vbeam in winter. i will think about BP. i really have small acne so i dont want to use that powerful thing on my face but i have big problems with hyperpigmentaion. maybe 10% aha should prevent some acne and heal marks a bit ?:
I've always used a 20% salicylic acid gel peel from Skin Laboratory. Its a little bottle and you put a qtip in and get the qtip wet, then you go around and put it on your red marks, wait a certain amount of time (depending on how many times you've done it before) and then rinse it off. It's cheap (less than 20 dollars) and effective.
It should work with what you have, considering, as the previous poster said, it seems to be mostly superficial.
i get ipl for my red marks. i used to always go and they would do 3 passes on each spot and that would work fairly well until i went to a new place that is the best in my area and had an ipl and they did 10 passes on each spot and 7 days later they are just about gone. i would look into IPL if they really bother you. i have had chemical peels and laser and nothing works as fast and as well as the IPL for red marks as well as brown spots and broken caps. good luck to you!
by the way your skin looks great!
I recently learned that BP actually slows down the healing process and therefore contributes to the red marks!
The Neaclear Liquid Oxygen system I have been using is really working for me. The moisturizer has vitamins and aloe that help heal the acne marks. And no BP. I have very little active acne anymore since starting the system. But now I'm working on getting rid of all the brown and red spots, (acne and sunburns) that I accumulated over the years. I'm seeing improvement everyday.
Question: What exactly is IPL? Is it a light treatment or some type of laser treatment?
By the way, your skin doesn't look bad at all! Good Luck!
IPL is a light treatment. They basically just use this machine to zap each mark and then in a few days to a week the marks will be much better or gone. Its so easy to get done that I go on my lunch break from work to get them and I am fine. They do it on a high setting for me as well. I had IPL's done at 4 different places and probably had 20 or more of them done over the years with no issues at all. It always makes my skin look so much better!
People who use BP often complain about it causing red marks and slowing the healing thus making marks last longer. I'd avoid BP for that reason alone, not only that though, your skin doesn't need it. Not to mention when the time comes that you stop using BP your skin will probably explode. That's the case with a lot of people.
Try acne.orgs AHA as a spot treat for your pimples and a all over application to fade the red marks. It works really wonderfully. I was in a similar situation as you with these red marks that just wouldn't go away no matter what I tried. Aha fixed that for me. I love the product. Give that a go
you should go for a consult and see what they recommend. i would probably start out with the IPL though because its easy and really no downtime. when you go for the consult have them do a test spot and see how that goes. they need to do multiple passes on each spot to see a difference. that is the key as well as upping the settings on each visit. i pay $300 for my entire face or $125 for a spot treatment which is like 10 spots. good luck and you can pm me if you have any other questions.
Is aha + safe ? can it also prevent new breakouts ?
Yes AHA is safe to use, it is PH balanced and has helped tons of people. Acne.org Dan more specfically makes sure that they are providing the best product they can to the users of the product. Check out the reviews on this site in the review section or on amazon because the products are sold there as well.
Just use benzoyl peroxide. I use to have red marks all over my back like hundreds of small red marks. I used benzoyl peroxide for a month and they quickly diminished.
Just make sure you don't get breakouts from the bp you choose to use.
Most people actually notice that BP makes their marks take longer to heal. Many have stopped using BP for this reason alone. I wouldnt recommend BP as a treatment to fade marks away. You need a product that exfolate the skin like AHA, chemical peels, lasers like IPL or light treatments, or retin a. If you are into more natural approach you can try lemon juice which can help lighten the skin.

iam afraid that i would break out with aha + ;(.
Well I had this problem, buuuuuuut after a few months they have faded. I use this 360 Face cleanser from walmart. I also use this one thing I got from the dollar tree actually anddddd it works really good. I now have clear skin except I have one little mark, but nobody knows but me because I cover it with make up. Just clean your face and it should go away naturally. I've heard another way is lemon juice, but I've never tried it. Ohhhh and even ifff you have this -You're still cute.
