Best Thing For Red Marks Left From Acne? (Apart From Aloe Vera?)

I've had red marks from acne (mostly on my cheeks) for a few years now and it's seriously starting to annoy me. I don't really get pimples anymore it's just the marks.

When i lived in South Africa i used aloe vera gel (directly from the plan) which really improved my skin, i think the properties in the aloe vera gel made the marks fade. For some reason when i stopped using it, my skin got worse again. (does this mean i'll have to use it forever?)

Now that i'm in England, my skin seems to be getting paler...and the marks that i still have left are becoming more visible :/ it also doesn't help that Aloe vera plants can't be obtained here as easily as south africa. you have to order them online...and still they're nowhere near as big as the ones i got in south africa for free.

What can you guys recommend for marks??

Red marks usualy fade within 9 months , a red mark is not considered a scar ,but if urs lasted for years dam man , that's a scar.

Try some AHA + retin-a/differin and Vitamin E oil or any oil(emu, bio, jojoba).

Alpha hydroxy acids and some more AHA.

Trust me I have tried many things, and this is bomb. It stings very much, but I just jump around to distract myself from the pain. :P

But yeah within 1.5 months, the marks fade very nicely and the skin looks great.

But it didn't do much for the existing acne, so I had to spot treat with BP while using AHA.

I burned myself with AHA two days ago, great advices you have on this forum, "you have red marks? put some AHA on them to burn your skin so you can have more red marks". My advice would remain the same, don't do anything, put some light make-up on it and wait. I use emu-oil at night, I don't know if it helps but at least it won't burn my skin.

Oh it burned your skin?

Oh I didn't even know it could be that severe to some people.

I guess skin sensitivity matters a lot in this case.

Hi, aloe vera is good for spots, added benefits is the soothing/moisturizing properties, however if you want to fade those bad boys up, LEMONS. Seriously, it's the only thing that works great and fast. I started using it recently again after having a bad breakout, I remember using it a while ago to fade mild spots and it worked like a charm, saw results in a matter of days. The only thing is you MUST wear sunscreen while going outside. Lemon makes your face more photosensitive. Use it once a day for an hour, wash off, and repeat the next day. See how your skin reacts. If it reacts well, use it every night, and leave it on, wash it off in the morning. Like any other product please look into this and see if this is something for you. Look at reviews, facts, etc. Worth giving it a try!

Hi, you should be able to buy an Aloe Vera plant from any garden centre, that's where I got mine from.
