Hey!
MY UPDATE, I actually tried this for a week.
*morning and evening spread all my face for ten minutes.
RESULTS:
The tiny bumps went all away by third day almost.
But unfortunately, it made my skin really dry that I got eczema all over again.
however my forhead by day 7 was absolutely clear.
No tiny fleshed color bumps.
I stopped this week to cure my eczema, just to be honest I really don't see any sort of bumps.
My eczema is cured now, but my forehead getting pimples and zits and on my chin too, I really don't know why, trying to figure it out!!
Hey Nicole,
How is everything so far with you?
As I said I stopped using Nizoral after one week of use, due to eczema, my chin and my cheeks went crazy on me, whitehead and pimples, So I went for natural remedies and treatments, by now my skin is doing much much much better, so what I did, I had fungus and acne, I decided to get rid of fungus with Nizoral then to get rid of my acne.
what I did after quitting Nizoral:
twice a week: turmeric mask, contains, drops of tea tree oil, and of course turmeric, raw honey, and yogurt, and I leave it on about for 30 mins.
Once a week: Ghassol mask, it's actually a Moroccan clay mask that you mix with rose water and leave it on only for 10 mins.
Morning and evening: I wash my face with a mild soap.
Moisturiser: I use something called Nutraderm cream for dry skin.
Before bed time: I apply 5% benzoyl peroxide gel like a spot treatment.
And it's been almost 2 and half weeks, and I'm seeing and amazing results, I know It's much but it's working!
my skin feels so smooth, my forehead is clear, my chin is almost free of pimples, just my left cheek still have once, but I hope it'll be gone soon, and the dry patches are fading :D!
I hope this beneficial and help someone out there, because I almost gave up, but after seeing a great improvement, not gonna stop !
Hey Dounage so happy for you! I took 2 weeks of oral itraconazole just finished a couple days ago. It's an antifungal but didn't do much. I just ordered tea tree shampoo and a mandelic acid body wash and toner. I've heard it gentler than BP and I know from past experience my face can't handle BP. Thanks for sharing your treatment routine. A couple questions if you don't mind. Is the turmeric mask something you mix yourself? If do can you give specific amounts of how much of each you mix together? What facial soap or cleanser do you use? I swear I've tried soooo many vanicream, cetaphil, aveeno.....I can't find one I really like! Thanks girl and keep me posted. I can only hope to see some improvement like you soon. Oh yeah....I also started an internal cleanse and paleo diet. Only on day 6 so can't say what is will do for my skin but I've lost 5 lbs!
Hey, Nicole, Skysthelimit, Merry Christmas.
Hows everything going?
My face feels better than ever, I came across face wash called Bioderma Sebium Purifying Cleansing Foaming Gel, this thing is so great, it prevented me from breakingout, and controlled my oily areas, and it didnt dry out my face.
I dont use any face brush, just my hands!
The turmeric powder, is like a spice, indian maybe!
And sure, my mask ingredients and portionsgoes for, 2 tbs turmeric powder, 1 tbs yougurt, 1 tsp raw honey, about 3 to 5 drops of tea tree oil.
You can store this mixture in the fridge for 4 days till the next use!
To be honest I use it now only when I feel like my skinsneed it.
Surely, dont forget to drink water.
My skin now feels really great, and Im taking control of my breakouts around my cycle.
I hope the tea tree oil shampoo and the mandelic acid toner works for you, Nicole!
skysthelimit, tell us if you tried the mask!!
Ill keep you guys updated if I changed anything in my routine!
Have a nice day.
On 7/2/2016 at 3:28 AM, progressnotperfection said:i was wondering if you had any new updates .. here are some pictures of my face..i tried fungal creams from my derm but they all didn't really work... i just realised a couple of days ago that all my makeup products and moisturisers contain oil. And after reading this all, it makes sense that my oily face doesn't like the oily creams. My pf flares up and sometimes calms down but i really don't get what the triggers are. Somebody here mentioned heat.. after i take a sunbed my face is always worse but i blame 'sensitive skin'. My derm said i have a yeast overgrowth and just gave me a hormonal cream + fungal creams. nothing worked so far but i've never tried the nizoral shampoo.. i ordered it yesterday after reading your blog. also i have oily skin and sometimes reallyy oily.. (and this all started last year )
Hi Anna,
That's such a bummer to hear that your derm wasn't able to provide you with something that worked. Nizoral helped me because it containsKetoconazoleso hopefully your fungal creams weren't that same ingredient. However, I've read that some people have more improvement with the lower percentage in Nizoral. My fingers are crossed for you!
As an update, it's been a few years since my initial problem with PF and I (thankfully!) don't have the issue anymore, other than maybe once or twice a year. If I notice my skin's texture is starting to get bumpy, one 10 minute session with Nizoral makes a huge difference. I have alsolearned that I can't use any products with tea tree or coconut oil, which is unfortunate since those things can help my regular acne.Irecently switched to a mineral makeup,Jane Iredale Glow Time, because I still need full coverage for my regular, hormonal acne. After about 5 weeks, I can determine that this makeup doesn't irritate my PF and it does a great job with coverage. I also use anoil-free sunscreen, as sunscreenhas been known to make things much worse!
I think that one of the most important things in balancing out your skinis to get the bacteria/fungus ratio back under control. Using anti-bacterial soaps or hand sanitizer kills the natural (good) flora of bacteria on your skin that wards offmore harmful bacteria. As states the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, "antibiotics can aggravate pityrosporum folliculitis because skin-inhabitant bacteria and yeasts are normally in competition on the skin surface. When antibiotics suppress the bacteria the pityrosporum yeasts can over grow."
I truly hope that the Nizoral makes a difference for you! You should be able to at least see a change within a week. After a few weeks, mine were so much smaller and just kind of dried up. I didn't exfoliate them off in fear of irritating my skin.
Let us know how it turns out!
For those that can't afford the $30 price tag to get a bottle of nizoral, I found that head and shoulders also works great!! Within 2 weeks, the tiny bumps on my forehead vanished. You definitely have to wash affected area at least once a week, if not the bumps do come back. I like to leave it on my face for 10-20 mins before I wash it off. I'm so grateful I found out about malessiza acne and finally found a way to get rid of it.
before (i thought it was regular acne, a bad reaction to a different type of face powder) boy was I wrong
After ¤ cleared right up.
Review123- That is so awesome for you! Your skin looked exactly like mine did before it cleared up. I'm really glad to hear that Head and Shoulders also made a big difference.
Aussie- Thank you for sharing the other options. I've definitely heard that some people say that Nizoral stops working for them at some point, so this is great to know that there arecheap alternatives!
