It's been a while since I've been on these forums so excuse me if my post is a bit long or rambling. Dan's regimen worked for me and I'm now 99% clear all the time and only break out due to hormonal imbalances, which I can accept and deal with.
I love all of Dan's products except for the moisturizer! Hate it, and although it feels good on the skin, leaves an awful yellow tinge to my skin. I only use it for bedtime sometimes with the AHA but a good daytime moisturizer has been a huge struggle to find. Nothing works. I've tried cetaphil, nuetrogena products, clean and clear products, expensive brands etc etc. I still haven't found the one. I have very oily, light expresso south asian/arab skin. Most moisturizers leave my already oily skin even more disgustingly oily or they just don't moisturize effectively.
So my question is to those who have their perfect moisturizers or moisturizing routines: what works for you? I'd love to hear positive feedbacks for anything that works so I can try it too, understanding of course that every thing is based on trial and error. I'm especially interested in recommendations for natural remedies such as honey, or use of oils such as jojoba that are non-comodogenic. I've heard a lot about using oils but scared to try it out with an already oily skin! What kinds of oils can work? Any tried and true recipes/regimens/products shared is greatly appreciated!
Moisturizing can provide more water content to your skin but it doesnt stop your skin from producing the same amount of sebum. So if your skin is not "dry" i dont think you need moisturizer ("The skin should be better referred as oily or non-oily when referring to the sebum content or, when regarding water content, dry or non-dry." http://www.karger.com/Article/FullText/338978#ref18 )
And for oil, you shouldnt put oils that are lipid on your already oily face : coconut oil, olive oil... Essential oils like thyme oil, tea tree oil, rose oil.... may be acceptable but please dont apply it undiluted but do research to find out the dose
