I am a 20 year old female & I've been dealing with acne since I was 13. No matter what I do or use I have oily skin & it seems impossible to wear makeup. My face always seems to "melt off". I am currently on ortho tri cyclin & my skin is still oily. I tried oil blotting pads & even primers. I need help, it saddens me I can't wear makeup.

I have extremely oily skin too! My face is so oily that my t-zone looks like it's been rubbed with melted butter and the rest of my face looks like it's been sprayed with PAM non-stick cooking spray...
I found that using pure jojoba oil after washing your face with a gentle cleanser like Cera Ve or Cetaphil certainly calms your pores. The jojoba oil basically tricks your skin into thinking that you are already all "oiled up". Aim for a pure/organic jojoba oil rather than one with other additives.
You won't see a miracle transformation, but your face will definitely be less oily for longer periods of time. I went from being greasy within 15 minutes of washing to about an hour or two. I used to actually see beads of oil coming out of the pores of my nose, but now the way my face produces oil is more even and slow.
You have to keep this routine up for a good month or two to see results. Just stick with it and don't be let down!
As for makeup, Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - COMBINATION TO OILY SKIN acts as a good base. The Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation also works WONDERS but it looks pretty cakey until your natural oils settle into it. I've actually gone an entire day without blotting with that foundation but it's very pricey, unnatural looking, & hard to blend.
I also find that higher end blushes, highlights, powders, etc last longer and stick to the skin better than drugstore, so spend more $ on makeup and it might be a good investment! Lol (My friend is a makeup artist that suffers from oily skin as well)
Good luck

What is on your surface DOESNT affect the amount of oil produced. There's a constant rate no matter how your skin currently is. So tricking your skin is not possible

I cleared my extremely oily skin in 4 weeks with this extreme regimen (sorry for any bad english).
Breakfast: raw oats with a handfull almonds on water (no milk)
Workning out: core exercises 1 hour
Post working out: 300 grams of vegetables
Lunch: 600 grams of vegetables
Afternoon: Lifting weights 3 days a week, 4 days of light cardio (running 3 km, bicycling 6, something like that)
Dinner: 700 grams of vegetables with 10 eggs fried in hot (but not burned) virgin olive oil.
Evening: 20 min of yoga or meditation
Snack: 300 grams of vegetables
Vegetables eating a day 1900 grams (about 4.2 pounds) Fibre content a day about 40 - 50 grams.
Mostly carrots, broccoli, mushrooms. But also peppers, cucumber, tomatoes etc.
All are eating raw expect broccoli which is lightly steamed.
I go to sleep at 10 pm, get up at 6 am.
I wash my face in cold water, I do not use anything else, or put anything else on my face
All the above is done everyday.
The hypothesis behind this is that human sebum consists in average of 57.5% triglycerides (1). The amount of triglycerides in humans is controlled by ones cholesterol profile. It can be extremely tough to lower ones cholesterol without medication, hence the extreme diet and exercise. The fiber content in my daily vegs is probably the most importtant thing in my regimen.
Several studies has been done in food and acne, food and oily skin, acne and cholesterol, acne and fat metabolism and so on.
They are all pretty conclusive in that diet causes oily skin, acne and many other things.
