I've had acne for 5 years non stop. In the five years it has gone from severe to only a few spots to awful again and then clear with a few scars. I'm 15 and this year I went on Yasmin to try and clear my acne and after four months I had no spots whatsoever on my forehead and a few on my cheeks that was it. My skin which is normally oily was a lot less oily and usually i had to wash my hair several times a week but I could go a whole week without washing it. but I suffered with awful insomnia 5 months in had bad migraines and was more anxious than usual. Due to the fact I was only getting 2 hours of sleep a night I came off of it. I slept a lot better but my acne has come back. Doctor has prescribed dianette and wondered whether it's worth it or not. help!

I started getting my acne when I was about 13 or so. It was only ever 2 or 3 spots but they started to bother me and my skin texture started getting pretty bad. When my skin began to get worse, I also suffered with really bad period cramps so I went to the doctor when I was about 16 to sort all of it out. He prescribed me Dianette and I loved it. I actually never realised how good it was until now that I'm 23 (with REALLY BAD hormonal acne) looking back... I pretty much took it for granted! The Dianette really kept my skin clear and my skin was never a problem for me during my late teen years while on it. I'd nearly consider going back on it but I have the mirena coil in and I've just started roaccutane today!

But definitely give it a go... you'll also have to wait 3 or 4 months before you actually see results in your skin, but its worth a try. Just be patient and if it doesn't work for you, you can always come off it and try something new :)

Unfortunately, acne is a big game of trial and error!
Best of luck :smileys_n_people_114:
