A little background first:
I've been on 100mg Spiro for around 3 months now (my endocrinologist still thinks I'm taking 50mg) and I'm not really seeing any major differences. I know I probably have to up the dose but I'm scared of my potassium levels going up. I will most likely go on the pill this month too and see if it helps.
I am 99.9% sure that my hormonal acne issue is androgen sensitivity aka my hormones are at normal levels but my skin is too responsive to testosterone and its nasty buddies aka acne and I are inseparable.
My grand idea (or not):
I noticed that everytime I get a bad cyst or a big zit, if I remove the hair follicle using a pair of tweezers it goes down in a matter of hours.
I had upper lip laser hair removal a few weeks back and other than an initial breakout, I haven't had any zits in that area and I usually do.
If I wax my forehead and the peach fuzz around my eyebrows, I stop getting acne there altogether.
In theory, if one with my problem were to get her whole face treated, then other than some initial discomfort, it would drastically help my acne, right?
Who do you guys think? I'm not taking Accutane again since I got nasty side effects last time and it's a horrible pill anyway. I could discuss this with my endo but he freaks out over 100mg of spiro daily so I don't think he'd agree.
