I have had moderate acne since I was 15 and I'm about to turn 30. I have tried every diet change imaginable, and nothing clears my skin. Have also tried zillions of BP, salyclic, retinol, sulfur products. I had a baby last year and for the last 4 months, my face is the worst it's ever been. My question is..how do you truly know if your acne is hormonal? I breakout all different times of the month, it doesn't just happen around my period.
Hey some clues are, you're over 22 and still have acne, your periods ate abnormal, ypu have excess body or facial hair, you have cysts or very painful periods. Or if your skin is very oily. If you were on birth control and stopped. Most adult acne IS hormonal. Having a baby messes with hormones too! Me for example, I never had normal periods sometimes I would skip them for months sometimes I'd get it twice per month. I still got pregnant though.
My little theory is so many of ud have messed up hormones from all the toxins, hormones in our food, phytoestrogens in our environment.
Hope this helped.
