People were telling me how apple cider vinegar could really help with my skin issues if I rubbed some on my face as a toner. So that's what I did; I put some on a cotton pad and rubbed it on my face. It burned a little but I didn't really think about that at the time. I wake up the next morning and my skin is literally red. Almost like it's been burnt, just raw and red. It's been two days and it's not dying down. Help!! What do I do???? Will it scar? How do I heal my skin?? Would aloe Vera help??
I have used apple cider vinegar in the past, with the same bad results. ACV is just literally vinegar. The ''working'' compound is acetic acid. Problem with applying is that you cannot really control how much acetic acid gets on your skin. Enough acetic acid can induce a chemical skin burn. Your skin has turned red because of a mild chemical burn.
Not sure what the best approach would be. If its really bad it your skin might start shedding for a bit. Just be sure to moisturize plentiful! Aloe Vera is not a moisturizer, but might alleviate possible itches?
Let this be a hard learnt lesson, don't trust everything you read on the interwebs. Its better to buy regular store products, these have been tested for their safety ( Most likely at the cost of some bunnies ) .
Make sure the ACF is diluted, ex 1 tsp of ACV, 3 tsp of water, if you have sensitive skin, use more water. Also, you need to use BRAGG Organic ACV, not just any ACV. "Organic, unfilteredapple cider vinegar(likeBragg's) also contains "mother," strands of proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria that give the product a murky appearance". [removed] Also, try leaving it on the skin for only a few minutes or even seconds, then washing it off. Hope this helps.
