Have you ever heard of the caveman (no-wash) method? I've tried pretty much everything (I've ranted about it here) and after a decade of waging war on my acne, I decided to just stop touching it. It was very hard at first, and I've only been doing it for a week, but I've stopped getting new pimples and can see my pores purging out the gross stuff (not in the form of pimples, just sebum... it sounds gross, and it kind of is, but it's also pretty satisfying). It definitely takes a leap of faith to just STOP your normal skin care routine, but our bodies are smarter than we give them credit for. If you're curious, there's more info on it through the link I used above.
I have sensitive skin and always had bad reactions to BP and tea tree oil. What has worked for me is prescription strength Azelaic acid cream or gel. It's antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, so it kills acne bacteria and reduces inflammation/redness. In some countries it's available over-the-counter, but in the US and Europe you need a prescription. Brand names are Skinoren, Finacea, Azelex and AcneDerm. If you're allergic to some of the inactive ingredients in the product, you can get a compounding pharmacy to make it for you without chemical preservatives like parabens, but it might have a shorter shelf life.
Hi there! have you tried taking zinc for your acne? It's what finally worked for me :). I started taking 50 mg per day and within 3 days, I had no new pimples.
