So long story short I have very dry acne prone skin. I have little bumps all over my face and nothing has ever helped. So I get cold sores a lot and that's why I bought L Lysine but at the same time I had changed my make up and face wash so I thought my skin had cleared because of the face wash. When I stopped taking L lysine my face got bad again. So I started taking it again and my face is clear again. JUST TRY IT! Its cheap! let me know if it works for you

It didn't work for me, however I don't doubt it will help people depending on what is triggering their acne. For me, I think I was overdoing vitamin supplementation, more directly the b6 and b12 of the man made version so I believe my liver was purging toxins through my skin. On top of that I'm pretty sensitive to certain dairy products, sugar and carbohydrates in general (unfortunately). So all I had to do was stop the supplementation and change my diet. But it definitely wouldn'thurt to give l-lysine a try. What everyone needs to do is find their triggers and remedies that work. But focusing more internally than externally. I know if I use any product, even for sensitive dry skin, it makes the problem worse. So I just wash with water. Anyways I'm happy you found what works for you!

Has anyone noticed weight gain as a side effect when taking Lysine for long intervals of time?

I'm assuming this Vitamin by itself could not directly cause weight gain? Surely it's because it increases appetite or something....

Im 42 & struggling with acne since a teenager. Spirinolactone settled down much a it. But recently I had break outs of those hurting massive facial uglies where your self esteem goes down. So here I go back on line to try to find some help. About 5 or 6 weeks (found from posting on this forum) ago I started 500 mg L-Cysteine/ day as well as 900mg Inositol/ day. Totally has been helping!!!!!!
Good luck!
