i have very mild acne due to breakouts that i got from my military duties. The acne is healing but there is the issue of hyperpigmentation. I'e been using water only (once a day at night) for the past 2 weeks and the dead skin mask is showing up.
At the end of the month when im supposed to exfoliate, would it be fine to go for a facial (a sudden use of many chemicals) to exfoliate and clear the dead skin mask? Or would it be too harsh on the skin?
Also, how about using a facial mask (simple vitamin c sheet mask for example)? Would the dead skin mask affect the effectiveness of the mask, and maybe even clog up my face further? Thank you
the only exfoliation you need is your hand, god gave us fingers with ridges for a reason. use them. i recommend just slothing off any skin on your face with just your dry hand everyday to prevent clogging if your pores. you dont have to rub roughly, just gentle passes ll over your face. this helps get rid of excess oil as well. i do this every night before bed, and afterwards i put on my moisuriser: skin md natural... best non oil moiusturizer i have ever used and it has stabilized aloe vera.
just wash your face in the shower once a day, use tepid NOT EVER HOT water on your face and rub your face with your hand, that's it! and pat dry gently with a cotton towel.... then at night exfoliate with your hand and apply moisturizer... this has kept me clear for a year, redness and patchy dryness is no longer an issue.. i havent had a major zit in 6 months.
