Hi everyone,
This is my first time on this forum, and I was hoping to get some of your guys thoughts on what acne I have and how to treat it..
So I've had these skin colored bumps on my forehead for as long as I can remember (probably years) and I would really love to get rid of them for good. I was researching and found that it might be Malassezia Folliculitis (Pitryosporum Folliculitis) and a lot of people recommended to use the Nizoral Anti-Dandruff shampoo. I thought I would give it a try, and it seems like it might have cleared some of it, but I'm not sure. I've been using it since March 24th.
The first two pictures were taken back in November of last year, and the last two pictures I took yesterday. I used flash in the 1st half of the 1st picture, and on both in the last two.
Someone please help me. It looks like it improved since then before even I started using the Nizoral shmapoo. I wish I had a more recent beore picture but it will have to do. Do I have fungal acne, whiteheads, blackheads, or what? I've never had completely clear skin and would love it so, so much.
Also, are those brownish pieces in my pores in the bottom picture blackheads?
have you tried salicylic acid based face washes?
Acnedote make a good one called Deep Pore Wash.
Always worth trying OTC products since your acne is very mild. If salicylic or BP based products don't help then you could get in touch with a doc/derm for stronger creams or oral antibiotics.
I do think that Salicylic acid over time does help with my acne a bit, but not on those skin colored bumps I have. I'm pretty sure some of them are blackheads, but I don't know what the others are. I see that theAlba Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash has good reviews on Amazon, and it's on the Walmart website as well. Do you know if they sell it in stores?
This is what I've been doing:
Cleanser: Philosophy Purity Made Simple OneStep Facial Cleanser
Toner: Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel with Organic Aloe Vera Formula Toner, Lavender
Moisturizer: Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel (sometimes I useJosie Maran's Divine Drip Argan Oil and Honey Butter Balm, but I wasn't sure if using argan oil would be helping so I stopped recently)
I've been doing this for a few days now and it seems like it's clearing up the pimples I have, but nothing else. I wish I could find something that works for me.
Very frustrating. 🙁

Takes more than a few days. From your bottom pics it looks like results have been good.
