Hi,
I've had spots for four years. I used to get quite bad, deep pustules but then went on the pill (Dianette) and it was fine. I came off Dianette, got a few spots for a while, but am now getting spots again. Have gone back on Dianette for six months and no change. Recently went through very stressful circumstances, haven't really been cleaning my skin properly and have just exfoliated heavily so spots and hyperpigmentation is inflamed.
Can am anyone help tell me what kind of came I have/ how I can get rid of it?
thank you. I know it is not terribly bad compared to some, yet it gets me down.
I currently have quite a few marks off old spots which will go. My spots also seem to be like small, not painful blockages under the skin. I've not had these before.
i am thinking hormonal made worse by not taking off makeup?

Hi Shelleydog. Would you consider trying a course of Accutane and then going back on dianette for maintenance? I've done several Accutane courses and never had any terrible side effects, just dry lips etc. You also could also try another hormonal medication called spironolactone, it works similary to dianette and I've heard it's better for your skin then dianette. I was on it for 10 months and found it amazing for my skin. I actually heard about it on this site so have a look at some of the reviews:)
I second trying spironolactone if you've found hormonal medication (Dianette) has helped you in the past! Try that before even considering Accutane. Spironolactone can take quite awhile to kick in though (~6-8 months) so don't give up too quick if you decide to try it. Also, just like the pill, if you stop the medication, just remember your acne can come back.
