Hey guys... recently I've read HIGH TESTOSTERONE is good to stop losing hair in men.

My results show very very low T levels..

Have any of you had your testosterone levels checked??? Is it low??

Please check your thyroid as well... my TSH is high which indicates Hypothyroidism..

I am seeing a urologist soon to probably get more comprehensive testing.

My test levels were normal last time I checked. Try using DIM it balances test and estro. High estro will cause hairloss in men

you guys are silly, you can't try something for only a few weeks and deem it a failure.

Has anyone had their ferritin/iron levels checked btw?

Myself and another poster here both have very low ferritin levels (she has 23 I have 63).

We are both taking iron now to boost it and we'll see in a few months what happens...

Men apparently should be in 90-110 or even 110-120 range for optimal hair growth.

What were your hormone blood test results?

Please post here.

Did you have ferritin and TSH tested too?

(if you were to take something like propecia,, you wouldnt get results in a few weeks either, if anything it would make your hair worse to start, usually)

You can see changes in hair within weeks I've seen hundreds of reviews from supplements. Are you still shedding as you've been on it for a while now, last time I had my iron checked it was in normal range.

You cannot evaluate based on weeks with hair, you can't.

What were your exact ferritin levels? normal to doctors is anything from like 25-332, which is retarded.

RESULTS:

After 12 weeks of MYO administration plasma LH, PRL, T, insulin levels and LH/FSH resulted significantly reduced. Insulin sensitivity, expressed as glucose-to-insulin ratio and HOMA index resulted significantly improved after 12 weeks of treatment. Menstrual cyclicity was restored in all amenorrheic and oligomenorrheic subjects. No changes occurred in the patients treated with folic acid.

CONCLUSIONS:

MYO administration improves reproductive axis functioning in PCOS patients reducing the hyperinsulinemic state that affects LH secretion.

^^This can only be good for hair.

Everyone needs to get their ferritin checked and post levels here please.

Low ferritin would be a definite reason for the type of patchy hairloss we have and losing hair.

Myself and another poster here both got tested and we both have very low ferritin levels.

I can't remember what the numbers were but I specifically asked him if I was anaemic and he said I definitely wasn't but then again doctors are pretty useless these days and know absolutely nothing about hairloss haha. It will be good to see Shaun's results and then compare with yours Mike then we can go from there. I'm hoping your going to have the same results that would be a great start.

Have you tried finasteride or dutasteride or minoxidil?

There is also topical finasteride available... so less side effects..

The only real 'cures' for this are finasteride and/or dutasteride.

So yes.

There are a few ppl who fixed their hairloss from B5 with finasteride. Can you please come back here and update us though if you get good results or bad results????

Hey I know this is an old, inactive post, but I'm on the inositol bandwagon now and thought I'd chime in - for the sake of any future browsers such as myself.

I started taking inositol because I got a hair analysis done, and the results told me that I was deficient in a few things, inositol being one of them. I had never heard of this before but the naturopath told me to get some inositol from whole foods and take a couple caps a day. I was more concerned with my acne at the time. Hm, how about I talk about my stats/symptoms first:

I'm female, 29 years old, chronic acne - definitely hormonal since I was 13, Female pattern hair loss - used to be real thick in high school then thinned out over the years. I've always noticed this, but lately it's been scaring me how much hair shedding is happening. I've worn my hair in a bun for YEARS because if I ever let it down, there's bald spots. I just sort of accepted it until this recent hair shed bout, and I took a picture of my scalp and almost started crying. If I don't do something about this now, I'm gonna end up seriously bald by the time I'm 45 :(  And I'll probably still have acne then too. Not my ideal. I also have excess hair on my body. It's not terrible (manageable), but it's definitely excessive; male pattern.

I've tried so many things, mostly focusing on acne, but now focusing on both. Biotin never did anything, saw palmetto didn't really work well, neither did spearmint tea. I got my thyroid checked - normal, Dr.s never wanted to do further testing. They said I'm fine, it's normal. ITS NOT NORMAL. Why don't they listen to me? I gave up on drs, and now this naturopath suggested inositol.

I'm pretty sure I have PCOS, or something hormonally similar to it, so I've been browsing those forums and such.

Well, I started out taking 250mg inositol 2x/day. Did that for a month. There has been a slight change (actually, quite a drastic change) in the oiliness of my skin, and cystic acne seems reduced. The chest hair definitely seems finer!! Which is a very welcomed result. I'm still experiencing regular acne, however, and hella hair shed, so I bought the powder this time instead of the caps, and have increased to 750mg 2x/day. I'm going to do this for another couple weeks, and then increase to probably 2000 mg/day or so, and see how that is if necessary.

I've also started taking iron, as my bloodwork indicated I was low, and I am vegan as well - have been for a year now. So I figured it probably is a factor as well, however, I most certainly am sure that the inositol is really going to be the star here, as my androgenic imbalance has been with my in fluctuating capacities for my entire adult life. So.

I truly hope this is going to work out for me. I've had a lot of false hope, but I've tried so many things and different avenues, there's not much left to try. There's only so many things that can be off in our bodies, right?
I've also ordered a bottle of toppik, to help with my confidence until I get things in check. If my method is successful, it will still take lots of time - so I'm gonna cut my hair(it's very long right now), and start a new chapter.

Best of luck to us all :)
