Low body weight and acne?

Hi everyone just hoping for some insight on my (seemingly hormonal?) acne.
Basically, I finished a low dose accutane course 3 months ago (with much success btw) only to have my skin to return to an oily, pore-clogged and irritated condition :smileys_n_people_56:
When my acne was at its worse I began eating as healthy as possible and would go hungry a lot to "punish" myself for not being able to fix my skin.
Yada Yada I was very depressed due to a combination of things, eating pretty disordered and my weight now fluctuates between a BMI of 16.5 to 17.
My blood tests are fine, but could my weight be screwing up my hormones > causing my acne return? (Research tells me eating disorders are more likely to cause dry skin though)
Has anyone been through something similar?
Thanks!

I have not been through a similar situation to you. What you need to do is find a diet and lifestyle, that works for you. I recommend you look into finding a holistic nutritionist. Most dermatologist are just going to prescribe you medications or topical treatments. It is best to find out if you have any food sensitivities, allergies, or intolerances. From there, you work to build the ideal diet for you. Also, your acne is a combination of diet, mental health, and weight. Eating sporadically and depression, contribute to acne.

When i had my ED, my acne was at its worst. The body needs healthy fat and enough food so you're not causing unbalance in your hormone-system. I've been eating healthy, and with good fats ( No rice, milk, gluten ect ect ) for a mounth now and i can see it on my skin. Make salted, oven-roasted pumpkin seeds your best snacking friend!

I agree, when I had an ED my acne got extremely bad. Eating carbs, healthy fats, and protein at every meal has been essential for my skin and recovery. An example of my diet now is oatmeal (honey, cinnamon, and coconut oil) and eggs for breakfast. A sandwich with some sort of meat and salad or vegetables on side for lunch. Chicken or steak with sweet potato or regular potato and pasta. I use coconut oil a lot. I only drink water and will eat a little dessert every few days. A good start would be to avoid fast food and soda. That was my first step and it helped a lot. Also don't go health overboard and end up with an eating disorder like I did either though haha.
