I was reading up on the acne.org AHA+ product and watched the video. It said that mechanical exfoliation such as a scrub or getting a facial can cause more irritation in the skin. Just wondering how true this is and if most people follow this. For as long as Ive been combating acne Iv'e always used an exfoliating scrub every 2-3 days.

Scrubs only works in the surface of the skin where AHA/BHA works more deeply in the layers of the skin.

Scrubs have a tendency to make people break out because it in many cases irritates the skin. Scrub will not really kill the acne bacterias and is not really working on "cell level" as AHA/BHA. So if you are having acne and want to try something that works better than scrub, try AHA/BHA cremes and also Benozyl Peroxide.

I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub once every two weeks. It was every two to four but it was too much I found, so I experimented with going longer between scrubs.

Yes, but I use a very gentle method. I use a Konjac sponge. It is made from the Konjac Plant, and it is 100% natural. It actually cleanses your skin too, and gently exfoliates.
