Hey people,

I need your help/advice on healing a popped embedded pimple!

General information about me : I have been struggling with cystic acne between 2006 and 2011 (and not officialy diagnosed, but probable depression and social anxiety about it). On November 12th, 2010, I started Accutane for 40 mg a month and went up to 80 mg for five other months until May 20th, 2011. Since then, my cystic acne has cleared away and I have occasionnal bumps now and then, but not frequently, so I'm not up to date on what to do about healing a pimple!

Yesterday, a cyst appeared around my mouth area (which is were I used to break out so bad and it makes me so self conscious) and with Benzoyl Peroxyd, I opened the pores. After the intervention (popping the zit...), I moisturized the area and cleaned it to prevent infection. Overnight (this night), I applied a thick layer of repairing cream and because I don't have to go out today (no university on Monday!), I still have a thick layer on the healing pimple.

Do you guys have any tips about healing fast and effectively a popped cyst which is pretty red and has some swelling? It's really the first time that it has happened to me since a year I'd say, so I feel out I'm out of answers about it. Any help and input would be greatly appreciated as I'm desperately trying to get this out of my face the sooner as possible (Friday would be heavenly) :)

The products I used so far :

- Benzagel, Benzoyl Peroxide Gel USP 5% w/w :  http://www.drugs.com/cons/5-benzagel-acne-gel-topical.html .

- A-Derma Epitheliale Skin Repair Cream :  http://www.boots.com/en/A-Derma-Epitheliale-AH-Skin-Repair-Cream-For-Damaged-Skin-40ml_1536/ .

Preston

EDIT: I realized that the first layer of skin has peeled and it is really red. Tips about skin regeneration?

Just a quick update on the healing process : now, the skin is regenerating itself and I'm surprised that in 2 days, it has healed that much. I've moisturized all the time the area and there is still a part that the skin as not regenerate itself : it is red and I can see that a layer of skin will grow there. For now, during the day, I put a thick layer of A-Derma Epitheliale Skin Repair Cream and by night, a thick layer too of Aloe Vera. I think that in 2 days the skin will be healed and in 5 days, much of the pinkness will be gone. Crossing fingers 🙂
