Diet Had No Affect On My Acne

I realized that when I was on proactive , I could eat whatever I wanted and not get a single zit, but when I ran out of proactive the acne came back horribly! What is going on there. So in my case I think diet has nothing to do with it. I also tried eating healthy and still did not work. Oil cleansing(tea tree oil, coconut oil) works for about a few weeks then begins to break me out all over my forehead! SO never again. I am back on pro active and my face is much smoother and clearer than it has been in months. I also use a vitamin c moisturizer that brightens my hyper pigmentation spots. So I am going to have to continue to use Proactive for the rest of my life to keep acne at bay, and be able to eat whatever I want. Life is too short to be food crazy and worry about can I eat this or that, without getting a zit. Of course I eat healthy, but If I want a piece of cake or something...why shouldn't I be able to enjoy that?

I agree, if diet caused acne then everyone in this country should have it, because no one eats a perfect diet, and I know people that eat all kinds of crap and still have flawless skin! WTH . I like being on proactive because I don't have to worry about what I eat. Yes I am eating healthier , alot of sweets is not good for you, but every now and then If I want one, I should be able to have sweets.

It really depends on how healthy, internally, you are.

A lot of us moderate-severe acne sufferers really get affect by what we eat because... acne is caused from the gut - from the inside. Your skin is the largest organ and will be impacted by what you put into your body.

I take it you are considerably healthy, so you're veryyyy lucky. But alot of users here have found a cure (or at least close to a cure) through eating healthier.

And ProActiv is great, glad its working for you :D

Really does seem like maybe there's P. Bacteria growing on your face and ProActiv really does help get rid of that Bacteria.

Bottom line, I guess... You're a very lucky guy to be considerably healthy on the inside. But for most of the acne.org community, we're not as healthy (Leaky gut, Candida, etc.) which is our main cause of acne, which is fixed mainly by diet.

I cleared my cystic acne through diet alone. I suspect I had leaky gut. I have food sensitivities, and food sensitivities aren't always easy to detect. Like cabbage, grapes, and apples are some of the foods that I'm sensitive to, but a lot of people wouldn't suspect that because they assume healthy foods have no affect on acne. And of course shit processed foods are not only bad for your health, but they're one of the leading causes of acne.
