Hello all. I am new to this site and I am glad I found it.

Here's some basic background info that ties into my skin type and acne causes:

I am a 21 year old African American/Puerto Rican Female whose been on a high estrogen Ocella Birth Control (for acne) since the 8th grade. I have ADD and terrible anxiety. I also have excema breakouts at times, but not presently. I have a very oily T-Zone but the rest of my skin is normal. I don't touch my face a lot and I dont eat TOO much junk food. No more than the average college kid does I guess. Anywho..

I just recently turned 21 on June 1st, and I have noticed that since mid May to now, I have had an increase in acne that I haven't experienced since I was in Middle School. My forehead has pimples all over it, as well as the sides and under my nostrils. I woke up today with some weird red bump on my cheek. I have not had this many pimples and bumps on my face in years, and I cannot for the life of me, figure out why. During the school year, my face was completely clear. However, as soon as I got home, BAM! Pimples everywhere. It seems like the opposite should be true since I only break out like this when I'm stressed from school.

Does anyone have any home remedies they've tried to treat moderate breakouts? I'm going to start taking my Fish Oil Pills again, and I drink lots of water. I bought three different Nuetrogena Face Washes. One for acne, one for blackheads, and one for large pores (which I also have). It's hot in NC, so I try to stay out of the sun as well.

Having anxiety makes having breakouts an even more terrible experience. I feel so ugly right now, but I refuse to wear foundation b/c that'll just make it worse. All I can think about is my face and trying to keep myself from popping all these tiny bumps!

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's hard to say for sure what has caused the sudden flare in acne. My suggestion to you is to take a deep breath and don't blame yourself. You can try diet changes such as cutting back dairy and increasing fruits a veggies. Cut out soda, junk and sugar/processed food too. Give it 3 months. If after that time you see no improvement, visit a derm

Best to go the natural route. The medications you've taken in the past and your diet could have both contributed to it. The medication is probably a huge part of it since you just recently started breaking out. Those years of the medication probably broke your system down.
