Hello, i had very bad cystic acne which lasted 8 months and till finally my derm gave me a cortosone shot now there is a large pit, which isint going so my derm is small membrane that is pulling it down and a minor surgery to cut that membrane would bring the skin back in place is this true ? And then a laser treatment will be required.

It depends on the size of the indent. To be honest, indentions from kenalog (cortisone) are a side effect of kenalog and usually quite temporary. Unless your dermatologist thinks the indention is caused by a scar (which is entirely possible), the dent will most likely fill in without any form of intervention. The indention from kenalog isn't caused by any sort of membrane, but rather from atrophy of the fat stored directly beneath the bottom layer of your skin. The fat will redistribute itself after a while, and the indention will go away.

 

I would suggest getting a second opinion.
