I Think I Have Cosmetic Acne (Picture)

Hi,

There are two BB creams I've been using for the past 3-4 months, and I *think* they are what caused me to break out on my cheeks. Even though I've always had acne, it wasn't this much and not on my upper cheeks and jaw. I assumed it might be from toothpaste or an oral infection but apparently it's not and my teeth are healthy. And if it's a digestive or hormonal thing, why would it come so suddenly in a short amount of time?

As for diet generally speaking I'm healthy - fruits & vegs everyday, fish, and boiled chicken... although I do eat lots of sugary foods (cookies, pie, chocolate) but always have all my life so idk. think I am lactose intolerant to some level so I'm trying hard to keep my diet dairy-free. My forehead is clear and I break out aggresively on my chin days before my period, but it's not my main concern I don't mind it.

Anyways, I finally developed the guts to go out without any makeup on, so should that alone stop me from breaking out? How much time would it take it to stop and the inflammation/redness go away? Or is the cycle not going to stop now (one pimple leads to another) and I should treat it, i.e. antibiotics, as kind of like a reset button? I will be seeing a dermatologist next week but any input is needed please!

Thank you

Stop using the makeup, as you have done, drink lots of water, try to cut back on sugary foods and use an over the counter wash containing a low concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide to clear the existing acne. Moisturize with a gentle moisturizer and be patient. Good luck!

I suggest that you be consistent with a routine for 90 days before expecting to see results. Quit all make up for that time, go 100% dairy free and get a facial regimen and stick to it. Making changes here and there for a week or two will not yield much results.
