Hi. I'm a Latin male. I'm just about to turn 24 and, finally, my acne is getting better (I think). I had regular acne during my teen years, but it was never really bad. Unfurtunally, I used a really bad "natural" product and thing went downhill really fast. This happened when I was 20. I started to get acne in my chin, jawline, even in my head. The cysts started to appear everywhere. It was awful. I got scars. I went to the dermatologist and he put me on a mild antibiotic and topical treatment. Things got better. I suffered 3 bad breakouts, though. I don't want to have more of those. And more, I want to get rid of what is left. I don't know if it's bad or not, since I lost objectivity over the years and now every little pimple looks like a monster to me. So, I attached some photos.

Can anyone recommend something for this? Nowadays I just take an omega 3 pill every 2 days and BP on the whiteheads when they emerge. I don't drink, nor smoke. I barely eat anything whit lactose or red meat and I go for a run like 3 time a week. Short story: I'm trying to be healty. So, I don't now what else I could do. I don't want to put stuff in my face because many (almost all) creams and lotions break me out. So, anything? Please (also, my skin is really dry and peeling) :/post-445030-0-29385000-1421016659.jpgpost-445030-0-29385000-1421016659.jpgpost-445030-0-70238600-1421016673.jpg

Do you think you mostly just outgrew your acne? Just curious what age you started to notice it was getting better.

As for my recommendations I think you should honestly just keep doing what your doing... I know people don't often like to hear this.. but seriously, your skin is actually really quite good! Just keep on a healthy cleansing and moisturizing routine.. and your skin will only keep on getting better (:

As for the rolling scars, those can be addressed when the acne is completely gone via either laser or subcision.

Thanks!

I had really mild acne when I was 14, but by the time I was 18 it was almost gone, just some blackheads and clogged pores, but nothing more. But, wanting to get rid of them I bought some commercial product when I was 19 or 20 (don't remember the name) on my face and hell broke out. At one time I even had cysts on my neck! It was awful. I blame that cream I bought for that. I remember that it stinged like hell, but, again, I didn't know, so I kept using it until It was clear that it wasn't doing any good. Since at that time I didn't know anything I poked and popped hard, thus the scarring. I don't know if age had something to do with this but maybe you're right. My acne got better after I went to the derma, but when I stopped the treatment it came back. This happened twice. The other big bad breakout came after I started using St. Eve's apricot scrub. I used it twice a week, but it was enough to summon two or three big bad cysts. That happened four months ago, but after I stopped using it i got better without any medications. So now, I'm trying to not put anything directly on my face.

Could you recommend some reaaally mild neutral moisturizer and cleanser? I used avene cleanser gel in the past, But it left my skin felling dry.

And again. Thanks!

Hmm, you must have pretty sensitive skin.. avene is known for being a pretty darn gentle product ;p I've heard numerous good things about "cerave foaming facial cleanser". I personally use the acne.org cleanser, but it can be quite drying at times, so it's a tough call!

Moisturizers are a bit more tricky, most people usually have to find one that works for their skin.. a lot of people like the standard cetaphil face moisturizers, and I personally liked the neutrogena oil free moisturizer sensitive skin. You usually just have to see what works.. then again you said you're using a moisturizer, so If that is working well with your skin then I would stick with it (:
