I'm happy to report that my acne has finally started clearing up after 10 days of using a generic azelaic acid 20% cream (Aziderm) every 12 hours and also washing before application with a mild anti bacterial tea tree oil, zinc oxide and triclosan based soap (Acnelak).
Its just so nice to have cheeks and chin that are not in pain most of the time. I hope I am not being hasty getting my hopes up but the difference is really noticeable. I had started getting maybe 3-4 new painful bumps every other day; remember counting 8 active bumps (old and new) one day but after starting with these products they slowly stopped and I now have only 4 healing bumps no new ones at all.
I had previously tried following the regimen from here but BP really made my breakouts much worse taking me from mild acne over to the moderate group. I did not want to take antibiotics, had saved that route as a last resort.. and I think I am glad that I did.
Even if this method just reduces the breakouts to my usual 1-2 pimples a week I would stick to it and consider myself successful.
Just hoping it doesn't come back with with a vengeance
Thanks for that, I'll look for it here in the states....and you have had a long fight so fingers crossed on this for you!
But don't tempt fate, keep your diet clean and try to keep the stress level down. It is crazy what we do, I have such a strict diet and crazy topical routine but it works, so I stick with it!!
