I have this medium size red bump on my nose that I've had for a month or so and white head spout from this one bump. It's really weird, like a pimple dispenser pimple (sort of). This red bump always has 2-5 small crusty white heads on it. It has shrunk a little from when I first had it but it never leaves and acne scrubs don't help. What do I do to get rid of it?
Thanks for the responses! That pimple making pimple Is one of the more offensive looking blemishes on my face. I will try the toothpaste. I've been removing the crusty white heads when they show up and applying alcohol for bacteria removal but the bump as a whole has remained unaffected.
As much as I dislike Modern Medicine, Benzyl Peroxide can destroy the harshest of bumps, you can buy some over the counter, but be careful as it bleaches clothing.
Benzyl Peroxide is the main ingredient in "The Regimen" I believe. I just can't get over the notion that gentleness is the key to removing acne! I've resorted to scrubbing my face with sandy facial cleansers THEN working it in more with a toothbrush. FAR FROM GENTLE. Perhaps that's why I still have problems. I haven't been able to try toothpaste on the bump because I got seasonal allergies and I'm constantly wiping my nose. Does the Benzyl Peroxide remove all kinds of acne or just one type? I think I've got the whole acne collection: Cysts (red areas), Blackheads (they've been around forever), Whiteheads (sometimes), and regular old pore clogs.
Apply the toothpaste at night before bed - allergies hmmm, sure it's not an allergy causing your acne? Have you been tested for food intolerances? You MUST be gentle with your skin, rubbing it raw, then going out into the elements, ouch. Mild cleansers, oil free moisturiser, Aloe Vera gel before bed (a light amount) - toothpaste for the odd nasty bump. The regimen is a short term solution which is good if you're having a dodgy couple of years in between child and adult transition, but if your acne is more serious than that then you will need to find out what's causing it. I thought you just had this one bump, in which BP would have been useful, but it's not a long term cure.

Unfortunately the nasty bump on my nose is not the only acne I have. My mom says that my acne is not severe but I do have some red areas junk mostly on either sides of my nose. I simply mentioned the allergy because it wouldn't been wise to apply toothpaste on my nose when i'm wiping it all the time. Its ragweed mostly but thankfully its seasonal. I don't think I can put much on my face before bed because it would smear everywhere and possible get in my eyes. Ouch, there's Colgate in my eyes! Haw haw haw! Anyway is it possible that acne is only a genetic slip up that causes oil glands to produce too much oil? Other members of my family have gone though it. I read about a dermatologist that discovered that consuming iodine causes acne as well. Iodine is present (obviously) in iodized salt and is naturally found in seafood. Iodine leaves the body though the skin pores which is very irritating and may cause the pores to react. Good thing I don't eat seafood very often.
Toothpaste dries, it doesn't stay wet, same with Aloe Gel (wow you don't seem very open to ideas) - well what if for example your acne was from a gluten intolerance & all your family had a gluten intolerance without realising... no one's skin just covers itself in acne for no reason. If you're really serious about curing your acne, get your hormones checked out & food intolerance testing, also google demodex parasites & acne, you can cure that with Tea Tree or Clove oil. The only way iodine would cause acne is if you had a tendency towards an overactive thyroid.
