hi!
these are what i feel are huge pores.they look like enlarged hair pores and i can actually see tint hairs in them.
they are there around my nose area and cheek.some slightly smaller ones on my forehead.

does this look like huge pores to u?OR are they scarred pores?
i am encircling the few pores which looks like scarred pores.are they?
here :post-200657-0-37664200-1371899587_thumb.post-200657-0-68664400-1371899647_thumb.
do u have such pores?
i have a feeling that they have become noticeable after i went on accutane(about 6-7 mnths ago;my dosage was less & not foo long)
any idea if this could be possible?
any idea how these could be treated?
i use : salicylic acid foaming facewash(1% and pH balanced) twice daily before and after bed.plus,
i wash my face without cleanser (JUST SPLASH WATER) about 3 times through out the day - for instance before application of topical gel or after dancing/exercising etc.
also, apply faceclin gel(clindamycin + nicotinamide) as spot treatment on bumps etc
thanks.

I'm no expert, but those pores look damaged somehow. Like the pore has suffered some kind of trauma. I have similar looking pores/marks on my cheeks that I just assumed were scars from picking in the past.

but Lewis i have never picked.

and as far as i remember i never really had too many acne on that area(u know around the nose/below the eye place) except for small/big bumps or smaller zits.but nothing severe.like u see there's no PIH while the central area of my cheek does have spots left from acne/zits etc.

i wander why i suddenly got such looking pores?

one possibility is after accutane(while on it too) i was severely dry and had cracked skin,do u think that could contribute?

also,i am trying to keep a track of whether a mild bha wash(i use) is helping in any way.

what do u do to urs?

Well I could only attribute it to the fact that accutane reduces the amount of sebum you produce, therefore drying your skin out, including your pores. I actually believe the skin finds it hard to heal fully without sebum secretion. I know a lot of people suffer scarring to their pores when using accutane or BP because your skin just becomes a really dry environment - hence why it's a last resort. I believe that accutane doesn't give your skin time to heal, it just dries out everything in its path.

You said you use BHA washes right? Maybe you should try some form of AHA to exfoliate the top layers of your skin (rather than deep in the pore). I'm no expert, but I try to conceive logical explanations. Sorry if I was of no help at all! sad.png

na na,thank u for replying.

i am thankful u did.

otherwise for some reason most of my posts where i ask for help desperately go unnoticed.

the logic u gave for accutane is understandable but considering that once the sebum is normal ,skin is likely to come back to its original state.may be it is to take time but going with that concept, its to manage itself once the sebum is normal.

ur take?

u mean bha works deeper?

isnt that suppose to be good?

btw,do u have pores where u find hair?prominently i mean?

I have the same thing on my cheeks and around my nose. At first I thought they were scars but they're just large pores from all the oil production in your skin. I have had this since I was younger with perfect skin so I don't think they are necessarily scars. However the ones you circled do look suspicious.

Well to get rid of marks/scars on the skin, I think it's better to use an AHA, according to what I have read on this site. I'm going to try Dan's AHA soon to help my marks and skin-tone.

Hi aanabill!

Those are indeed scared. The good news is they are very shallow and they could improve on they're own over time. You can also have a couple jessner peels done and they will most likely improve along with any acne you have(your skin looks really nice to me :] ). A 12.5% TCA peel would be what I would do if I was in your situation. It will just smooth everything out and clean out your pores.

hi!

i am a lil' skeptic about peels of high power honestly.

the word is scared actually.

i use a bha wash(salicylic acid wash 1%- keep it on for 1-2 minutes) twice daily and i hope and guess it works okay.

i have read about peels going badly.also, people going red after peels for several weeks.

if thats the case it would be a bad casef for me because i need to be as presentable as i can for personal and professional reasons u know.

so i am scared.

i would try that after some time whenever i get a chance.for the scarred ones.

do u suggest anything else for huge pores as of now?

also,i am curious if a peel will help 'only' clean the pores or scarred pores or remove those scarred pores completely?

does peels (10-12%) help huge pores?as in helps in reducing them etc or just cleans them?

Your scars are so shallow that I feel a chemical peel or two will totally get rid of them.

Some information about peels

I love the jessners peel and done several of them myself at home with great results. Chemical peels are acids so they'll go deep in pores and disolve debris. Pores vary in size due to hereditary. You can't shrink a pore permanently only clean it out so its looks smaller. 10-12% TCA peel will help soften and completely remove some of your scarring.

Your SA face wash won't really help with them immediately but over time it will help to soften some. That would take a few years though.

I know all this from personal experience.

In the end its all up to you. Natural remedies don't work. Tried them all with no results. Only thing that could possibly help is to take vitamin c capsules.

alright i will try any of these.

may be a salicylic peel(since i know am not allergic to the acid) or mandelic because the link u gave says 'its gentle and so for those new to peels'.

although i am willing to give some good time to the SA wash i use,i am honestly in no hurry considering just these pores.

i would probably worry about whiteheads/bumps and PIH.

but i'd still try them sometime.

(am afraid it will take some time)

thank u very much for the information.

i'll keep u updated on the progress.

You're welcome!

I have the same thing. No point in worrying but it. I bet they are hardly noticable.

cover them up with a pore minimizer. Problem solved! :)

I don't use makeup either but I apply the pore minimizer to my nose. It's really weird because it blends into your skin and you can't tell you're wearing anything. It's like a beige color when you squeeze it out of the tube but turns into the same color as your skin tone. Never seen anything like it. I only use it on my nose so not sure if it would work as well on your cheeks...I am assuming it would work. It doesn't cover scars just large pores and it did work on a small icepick type scar on my nose but not on the scars near my mouth. oh well.

Hi dermarolling girl,

Please let us know the product... smile.png

i am not aware of microdermabrasion.

i'll look into it but i dnt think i'll try anything invasive(in case it is) unless i am completely clear of acne for many mnths or even years.
