Here you can talk all about the worst acne disease of all kind, Acne conglobata. I'm one of the unlucky guys that suffer it and I can tell you people it really stinks. I'm currently treating it with Accutane, but it seems to be somehow resistant so I'll have to repeat Accutane course with a higher dose. Accutane is the only known cure for this disease though. Does anyone have this disease? How do you cope with it? How to live with it?

I personally do not suffer from this form of acne but there are members here who do. If you want advice from other users that do have acne issues or knowledge of acne conglobata

If you want advice I would suggest not to come on here and belittle acne suffers for complaining about their acne. We all suffer on emotional and physical levels from this disease doesn't matter how bad if seems to you. Its the worst thing that could happen to other posters. Try being supportive to everyone and you will get the same in return.

As far as treatments for this form of acne. Accutane is the suggested treatment. What dosage are you on currently, how far into your treatment are you? And how long of a course are you on? There is one user I can think of off the top of my head that has this same form of acne. Hilmmatt he has quite a good outlook of having this type of acne and could probably give you some words of encouragement and give you some hope into your treatment. Send him a private message or something asking for advice and help.

Thank you, I'll send him a message. I'm currently on month 5, day 7, I weigh 73 kg and I'm 6 feet tall. I will be taking accutane till month 6. I'm taking 40 mg(2x 20 mg per day).

Just to give you some hope. I had moderately severe very persistent acne. I went on accutane after 4 years of trying every medication there was out there. I started my accutane course April of 2012 and finished it in October 2012. I have a 7 month course because my acne refused to kick it. I was breaking out still until my 5th month. Around month 6 is where I really started to notice improvement and I was clear by the end of month 6 and my dermatologist wanted me to be clear for 1 month so she gave me a 7th month. I am 5'9 and weigh 140 lbs and I started with 40 MG and on month 3 I moved up to 60 MG and continued at that dosage until I finished my course. So maybe that will give you hope. My acne was just moderate severe not anything like acne conglobata, and it took me 6 months to clear on Accutane.

I personally think that at your weight and heights you should be on a higher dosage more like 80 MG and with you condition and having such severe acne you should be on a higher dosage for sure. I was friends with girls that were 5'5 and weighed 110 LBS and had light acne and were on 80 MG of accutane for 6 month course. I think you need to have a conversation with your dermatologist and ask for a higher dosage. Do some research and find out other sufferers that have taken accutane and cleared or got cured with the medication and find out their dosages and find out the duration of their courses and bring some documentation to show your dermatologist. Get on a higher dosage and you should probably stay on it longer than the usual patient does.

Another thing. I also started to get acne again after my course about 3 months later. Now I am treating my acne hormonally and having success with that. Never the less though you needed to do multiply courses might just be what you need to do. If my acne that isn't as severe as your wasn't cured then don't you think it is possible that your acne would need more treatment?

Sorry, I'm on month 5 and not on month 4(I edited my previous post).

My dermatologist said that the effect of the drug would be the same if I take 40 mg for 7-9 months as well as if I take 60 mg for 3 months. She gave me such low dossage, because she was afraid of some side effects and she warned be that with the raise of the dossage, the side effects are more severe and on a higher level. I guess I'll have to take a risk.

One more thing. You said that there was a big improvement during your last month. But what impresses me is that such improvement has been made in such short time period. I mean, skin improvement usually takes a very long time to get better, it is really interesting that you've made this change in just last 2 months if I'm not mistaken.
