Anyone Else?

Does anyone else here get strictly whiteheads (pustules) around their chin and nose? I literally get no other form of acne like I used to in my early teens. No under the skin bumps, no blackheads, no pimples...just whiteheads.

If so, how do you treat them and is it possible for them to just...go away? I had acne all over my cheeks and forehead at one point, but now it's just limited to my chin, which may sound great, but it makes them more noticeable in contrast with my clear areas. People talk to my chin sometimes!

Gahhhh. Fed up of the little buggers!

My t-zone is oily, especially my nose, but nothing...severe. I'd say I have combination skin. It's improved significantly compared to a couple of years ago, my skin was dreadfully oily. I used to have the same acne all over my face, but now it just resonates on my chin mostly.

I use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser then normally I use Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser .5% SA. Right now I'm also using samples from Paula's Choice, the 2% BHA. Certain things do help them, but never fully stop them. The regimen definitely stopped them, but the flakiness was just beyond a joke!

I'm implementing a basic toner soon, in the past they definitely helped my whiteheads by removing the dead skin cells that cause them.

Any tips would be much appreciated. I've done diet changes in the past (I did the paleo diet) and I still got them. It seems like nothing can stop them.

Whiteheads and other types of pimples on chin and nose are strictly hormonal. The testosterone levels in your body really affect them. I have observed it meticulously in my own body .My hormones are guided by sort of a male menstrual cycle lol...There is always some particular time in a week when i can feel my skin getting super grimy and slimy. That is when my chin has a plethora of those hideous white heads. Oh lord,i pray for my andro-pause (menopause) soon LOL

This sounds just like my skin! I have a period of days where I know I won't break out and then suddenly I feel it coming, I feel them almost bursting out of my skin.

I'm on propecia (for hair loss) that probably messes with my hormones a lot. It reduces the conversion of testosterone to DHT, which means I probably have a lot of free testosterone. My acne is just the same as it was before I started taking it though, so I can't blame that.

yes, diet plays less important role for whiteheads in areas such as t zone.

i can say that from my own experience.

its hormonal - more to do with pores acting like stomata!

i'm testing for the forehead bumps and whiteheads these days.i also get tiny(really really tiny sometimes) ones on my cheek.

which is very difficult to track.

So what do I do? sad.png

Other than treating it with BHA (which isn't working!) what can I do...

It's either I stick with this, go back on the regimen or give up on everything! sad.png

Thanks for the posts though.

I use it once a day (I did use it twice a day, but in a morning I don't like to rock the shiny face look) at night.

It's done wonders for the rest of my face, but my chin is a bit of a mess right now :S

It is drying a little, not too much. I'm just not achieving clear skin at all :-/

I don't know whether I should try the regimen again...but the flaky skin was awful.

u do understand drying ur skin will only cause more oil in long run,dnt u?

ever thought of lessening the concentration?

any idea about the pH?

It's PH balanced especially for the skin. I always make sure to moisturise too.

My skin is no more oily than it was before, my skin is significantly less oily and it has been in the past.

I haven't a clue what's causing it. Right now I only have healing acne and flaky skin.

:S
