Hi Spriorda.
I made an account just to ask you something. Anyways....
I've been trying psyllium husks for 3 days now.
Currently i've got 2 huge cysts and are reducing in size. Whiteheads heal a little quicker for me now.
But the bad news is another huge cyst is growing on my cheek. Is there an initial breakout when using psyllium husks or should i give it another week and see if there are any newer cysts growing? I'm really hoping for this to work. My scars are already bad as it is from all this cysts. Damn..
Hey can I ask what your diet is and how often you sleep/exercise per day. Also you have to take it with the multivitamin and the probiotic for it to work fully.
You shouldn't be breaking out. How many fiber pills are you taking a day?
Im gonna give this a go... i tried a similar thing before with fiber powder but I forgot to drink it a lot of the time. I think the pills would be easier. Im using epiduo a topical retinoid and i am getting some reasonable progress with it but I think my digestion sucks so would be good to try and sort that out too!

Great to hear that someone else is trying it! Yeah before I started what I am doing my insides were messed up now there pretty straight. And retina A's are great. I used to use differin and it helped a lot. If you have anymore questions let me know!
Good luck
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
My diet usually consists of rice, veggies and the occasional white & red meat.
My sleep timings are usually way off because i'm working irregular hours. I hit the gym around twice a week. I am also taking the psyllium pills with probiotics and multivitamins. I'm using the one a day multivitamin as well.
This is my 5th day on this regime. So far my skin is less oilier. But the huge cyst is still there. I'll keep on updating on this thread on my condition,
I was on a similar regimen. I took those same exact topicals (duac + retin-A) including the monocycline (sp?) for about a year, which worked wonders, but then my body started to build a resistance and I was back to having cystic acne all over my face and back. By this point I had exhausted all the options given to me except for one... Accutane.
It's been 2.5 years since my last 20/40mg Accutane pill and I am acne free.
Cystic acne is hormonal.

Great to hear that you started the regimen. I know that when I started I wasn't getting a lot of sleep which kind of messed up my body. If you just shoot to get a decent amount per day or mix it up with a few naps then you should be good. I have the same sort of diet since I lift weights a lot. Usually consists of lunch meat (ham, turkey) in addition to chicken sandwiches. I start my day out with some oatmeal and drink a bottle of water. I think drinking water helps a lot.
Make sure you drink plenty of water while taking the fiber pills because the fiber absorbs the water and gets rid of the toxins. As far as the cysts are concerned. Those are going to take a little longer to go away as they are underneath the skin. The inflammation and swelling should subside within a few days.
Thanks for commenting on here daily I really appreciate it. Good luck!

Cystic acne is hormonal.
Cystic acne is not hormonal and is not something you grow out of, which is what 'hormonal' suggests.
I am going to have to politely disagree with your statement. Cystic acne is completely hormonal. It happens underneath the skin, so far underneath that benzoyl peroxide can't penetrate it. Hormonal acne (cystic acne) starts when toxins are spewed into the blood stream. Cystic acne starts at the closest point to our blood stream. That is why they are so deep. The toxins influence the hormones resulting in inflammation underneath the skin. By reducing the amount of toxins in the body, cystic acne is also substantially less significant.
Cystic acne is something you eventually grow out of through a healthy diet and well balanced life. Most young people have it for a period of time then it goes away as your hormones balance out.
Maybe for you it didn't go away because your diet was poor or because your genetics just don't let you grow out of it.
This guy is on to something.
When I first started taking probiotics for stomach issues (I was having symptoms from gallstones and not realizing it) my acne cleared up completely for a month or so.
Then my stones got worse, had to have surgery, etc. Complexion went back to normal on probiotics, but If I don't take them now I have horrible gas, stomache aches, headaches, indegestion, diarreha, etc now.
(DONT EVER LET A DOCTOR TELL YOU THE GALLBLADDER IS A "USELESS ORGAN", THATS BS, WISH I COULD TURN BACK TIME AND TRY SOMETHING ELSE)
Anyways, I still had occasional stomach issues even with the probiotics. Thats when I started drinking a green smoothie every morning.
Stalk of kale, carrot, random fruit and berries blended into a slightly crunch but good tasting smoothie. These things are better than a multi-vitamin and fiber pills lol.
After drinking this I go like clockwork every morning with a very large fibrous bowel movement. I noticed my complexion got A LOT better when I kept this up. Currently have fallen off the wagon for a week or two and I noticed my complexion is getting worse along with my regularity of bms. (Gross I know, sorry)
I'm also currently experimenting with drinking water kefir instead of buying the pills. Too expensive and I often had to take more than one a day, due to my already weakened digestive system. My acne has gotten a little worse after 3 days of drinking it but I haven't been on the good fiber bandwagon and it could be die off so I'm gonna stick with it another week. No stomach aches yet, usually after 2-3 days off probiotics I start getting bad digestive issues.
I've tried a lot of probiotics and the best I've found (in stores) are Culturelle, and acidophulus pearls are good too but not quite as effective as Culturelle. Align sucked for me, overrated (or maybe just not the strains my body needed, who knows)
If I go back on the pills I will try a high dose online vendor one, I saw a really good one with like 6 kinds of high dose acidophulus somewhere that sold me in it's sales pitch. Cost like $40 bucks but had like a 60 billion CFU and suggested only taking a few a week after the first two weeks for maintenance doses.
Definitely going to give this a shot: I already take vitamins and a probiotic (except it's the store bought Actimel stuff so I'll try something a bit stronger). I eat very healthily at the moment (green smoothie every morning, at least 2 big salads a day, loads of veg at dinner, avoid rubbish stuff), so hopefully the fibre should kick in and finally help me get clear.
Are these the type of pills you're talking about? http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=124&prodid=145&sid=0
Looking forward to trying this out!

Thanks for sharing your experience!!
Hey so I just wanted to let everyone know, I've been on this regimen for about three weeks now and I've seen some quite remarkable improvements. My parents noticed it too and they're my biggest critics. I think the fiber is key in this. It really helps get everything flushed out of your system. I have still gotten a few pimples since I started but no major breakouts like I was accustomed to. I haven't had a cyst since and the ones I had before are in the healing stages. In addition to this regimen, I have been washing my face every day with manuka honey and oatmeal and this has really helped the extreme redness my face used to have, and when I say redness, I mean, it was blistering red. I looked like I had a sunburn all the time. I have a very healthy diet, no dairy, no processed carbs, lots of fruits and veggies, and lots of meat (I do crossfit so I need it). I workout almost every day and overall have a very healthy lifestyle. I think the best thing you can do not only for your acne but your life in general is to adopt a healthy lifestyle and stick with it. I'm not expecting to be clear for another few weeks at least since my acne was pretty severe to begin with but I've noticed a definite change and it has really boosted my confidence and I owe it all to spriorda and his regimen.

Great to hear about your success with the regimen. I was hoping that you would come back and write and tell everyone how well it works!! Don't worry your skin will be way more clearer in like 3 weeks. Thanks for sharing man. Take it easy.
Sincerely,
Patrick
Spriorda, I just wanted to say thank you. Honestly. I've had acne now for as long as I can remember, I've tried just about everything (both natural and medicated) except for accutane. Nothing has ever kept my acne away. But after trying this regime now for about a week, my skin is almost completely clear. The only thing left is redmarks and one or two small whiteheads. I can't thank you enough for posting this. Keep spreading the word about this, hopefully more people such as myself can read this.

Thanks for posting this going to give it a try
Is it absolutely essential that i take a multivitamin supplement? I've taken a probiotic and a vitamin B complex each day as well as a fiber based remedy which it basically entirely fiber but not in pill form. ( You dissolve it in water, the fiber is called Husk Lindroos oralt pulver, it's Swedish)
How long will it take for there to be a noticeable difference?
Please tell me if i'm doing anything wrong and why.
Thank alot

Yes, and 1 week.
What do you mean by probiotic? Jogurth?
A probiotic. Its a supplement thats the opposite of an antibiotic.
Hi guys,
A few updates on my side. I've been on this regime for around 1.5 weeks. My cystic acne is drying up now. I wake up everyday and i noticed that my cystic acne would reduce in size. I have 5 cysts that is healing FAST! 3 of those are combined into 1 huge cyst. It used to be bigger than a dollar coin. Lol.
The amount of pills that i take.
8g of pysllium fibre pills, in my case it would be 8 pills a day.
1 x one a day multivitamins
1 x probiotic pill which contains 2.5 million cultured bacteria..?
I still have tiny weeny whiteheads that is only visible closeup. I think that's probably because of my inconsistent sleep hours and the food that i consume. I drink milk and protein shakes frequently as I take up bodybuiliding as a sport. If i wasn't on this regime, i guess the zit would actually be a cyst. So I don't mind. Besides it takes only a day for them to disappear unlike cystic acne. Thanks spriorda for this regime. Helped me greatly. For those skeptical people suffering from cystic acne, i suggest giving this a try before you go the accutane route or taking antibiotics. I was on antibiotics for 3 mths and my face broke out again after a month of stopping antibiotics. So give it a try guys. Kudos to spriorda!.
This regimen is guaranteed to work. The probiotics kill off bad bacteria in your stomach and re-populate the good bacteria. If you have ever taken courses of antibiotics, prescription drugs etc. you need probiotics. 2 billion with as many strains as possible is a great starting point and if you have a lot of bad bacteria the probiotic might make you feel a bit sick at first. I think once you feel okay you should keep upping the probiotic for the first month to get as much good bacteria in the gut as possible. You can't take too much probiotics.
The fiber helps flush your system from all of the bad bacteria that are dying off, as well as flush out toxins from the food you are eating. Without fiber this regimen won't work - it is the most important thing for people with acne to be regular. Seems weird but your skin is the second largest organ of elimination, so if the toxins aren't leaving your body they will come out through your skin.
With bad digestion you cannot be absorbing all of the nutrients your body needs no matter how healthy you are eating so the multivitamin helps the body with that. Any deficiencies created from the bad digestion would also be addressed by taking a multi vitamin.
So glad this regimen worked for you! When I saw this post I was so happy because this is what I have been doing for the past month and it really works. I have been on Accutane 5 times and this regimen keeps me clear. I have also changed my diet by cutting out sugar, many carbs and adding green smoothies but I think this regimen even outweighs the dietary changes. If I get lazy and stop taking the fiber I start to break out again for sure. My digestion is still not fully healed but I'm on the right path! This also not only helps acne, but it will help energy levels, your state of mind and many other health concerns. Many many diseases/disorders start in the gut, so if you have a healthy gut you will be a healthy person!

Okay so I may have spoke too soon. :[
Previously I was taking a very low dose non-refrigerated probiotic. I switched to one that is 2 billion and has to be refrigerated and my clear skin went crazy overnight! I have read that with this specific brand it might have come into contact with milk products so that might be one reason. The other reason might be that if you have candida and take a strong probiotic you kill off a lot of the bacteria and when they die they release endotoxins so I could be breaking out from the die off. The third thought could be that if you have leaky gut and take a strong probiotic the bacteria end up in your blood through the intestinal wall and it creates a massive immune response to attack them. The breakout itself was strange too. Lot's of little tiny pimples but all over my face! Places I don't normally break out. I have stopped that probiotic for now and am going to wait until this clears and try a different one, dairy free.
Has anyone else ever broken out from a probiotic? thoughts?

I don't think its the probiotic. What is your diet/sleep schedule/amount of water you drink per day? Also, what kind of foods have you been drinking. DO you exercise?
Patrick
It is the probiotics. I haven't changed anything and since I stopped taking them I am slowly becoming clear again. No new ones at least. I stick to a strict diet, the same one that got me clear. I drink a ton of water, fresh fruit and vegetable juice and smoothies. I sleep at least 9 hours a night and do light exersice every day. No other variables changed.
I really think what happened was a die off reaction. If you have too much bad bacteria and the good bacteria in the probiotics starts killing it the bad bacteria release endotoxins when they die. This is ultimately really good for the body but those toxins still have to be processed and if there are lots the liver gets overloaded and pushes the toxins out through the skin. I'm gonna try the probiotics once I am clear again but I'm going to go a lot slower with them to minimize a big die off effect.

Sorry to hear it didn't help you, but it has worked fine for me and many others. Maybe its just your body or the probiotic you used.
