Hello!
Firstly, I want to say that I will reach out to my dermatologist soon, I just want to get information from different people as well!
Today Ive been on isotretinoin in 20mg dosage for over 20 days. I just got my period after it being late for 10 days, which I read happens a lot. But my period was way more painful than usual and pain killers didnt stop it, from the research i read about women on isotretinoin I dont see a similar correlation, but I cant imagine another situation.
Another pain I am experiencing is my septum piercing I got around 3 months ago. It healed in around a month, after a month i didnt feel anything even when i messed around with my nose. Recently it started hurting again, now it hurts the same as the day I got it pierced!!! I read that its advised not to get piercings whole youre on accutane but I had no idea it would include my 2 months old piercing. Has anyone else experienced this? I am especially scared and curious about this because I dont know what to do if the pain continues being this bad through the whole treatment. If itd help hurt less I would even take the piercing out and let the hole close even though I really like it.
Any input is appreciated! Once again, I am looking for all kinds of ideas and experiences since I will see a professional as well.
My whole body felt insane when I was on isotretion. I couldn't even watch movies because my eyes hurt so bad. It was hard to stand and sit. Etc. It's a super hardcore medication.
I just checked a few AIs about your question and they said the nose thing is super common.
Attached is what one of them said summed up. Note they also said if it gets more painful, there's discharge, fever, etc., that's infection and you should check it out.
As far as menstruation goes, they're saying it can happen also, but not as commonly, and of course they're wanting you to be ultra careful since isotretinoin severely harms babies.
