Hey!I'm taking a piece of your challenge!
I`ll take 6 psyllium husk fiber pills a day.
I`ll wash with face with a tea tree oil protein wash and tell you how my cystic acne goes.
If I can get a camera, then I`ll post photos.
timer starts now!
side notes: I am a vegan. I have cystic acne primarily on my cheeks, and a bit on my forehead and chin. I've had acne since 10 years old. My mother and sister struggle with acne. I am 17 years old and female.
I hate vegetarians their always on my ass at school cuz im a hunter.
I eat meat as well. But thats getting off topic.
Well bfg I'm not trying to offend you. I can be vocal about my doubts if I want and also to dig deeper into your regimen by asking questions if I want. I do have something to lose as this may make me totally break out and not work at all for me. Everyones skin is different as is the cause of acne for individuals. I have decided to give this a shot anyways because it honestly sounds promising, even with the lack of evidence. I will definitely be reporting back often with my progress.
frankly, i must tell you something. antibiotics are not the way to go. it's so unhealthy, and in my opinion, and some doctors that i have asked, worse than accutane. Especially since they just don't work that well. i've been on tetracycline, doxy, mino, and keflex. none of them worked that well, becuase acne is not a bacterial problem. fish oil has better antiinflammatory powers than antibiotics by far. that's why i think you have nothing to lose with this regimen. its so freakin cheap. it won't make you break out any worse than you already do. if you find it doesn't work, 15 dollars down the drain. but i honestly have faith in this one. i wouldn't speak so confidently of something that didn't work.
John or bfg, does this reg have any effect on blackheads? I have a big blackhead problem as well and I have yet to find anything that actually helps.
This reg over time will help with blackheads. You can also use the blackhead strip tape. Which works great as well. My reg helps treat all forms of acne not just one. Thats why it works so well. You want proof. I will give you the best proof in the world. Try the reg and look at yourself in the mirror. Theirs no better proof then that. Another reason I dont like posting pictures besides strangers bothering me. is because people see my face clear and then start the regimen and dont see those results instantly and so they drop the reg and assume it doesnt work. If I dont show any pictures at all people are more willing to do the reg and are more patient to see results instead of expecting instant overnight clearing. I can assure you the results will come it might take five days and or 2 or 3 weeks depending on how stubborn and deep your acne is to finally clear. I congrat you that you are going to try the reg. Please keep open minded and patient when doing the reg. The clearing will come.

I was on the exact same meds. Including keflex which actually gave me irregular heart rythms. Mino didnt work, tetracycline didnt work either. Bactrim work for about 2 weeks then the acne came right back and worse. See the problem is taking and antibiotics is not the answer. Its a doctors way of trying to keep the acne down to a minimum. Which in reality stop working after a while then you have to go on another anitbiotic.
they'll all come to the surface, and are readily poppable. i popped all 5 of them really easily after using the regimen for a few days.
nevertheless, i do not recommend popping. popping will just lead to horrible hyperpigmentation.
i have a .5 inch hyperpigmentation spot taht has lasted 2 years because i picked at it. it's very brown and noticeable. almost worse than a cyst.

use a sewing needle to prick the white head. Then lightly squeeze the puss out this is the safest way to do it.

You hate them because they don't agree with you? Wow. Not all vegans/vegetarians (there IS a difference) are the same. That'd be like me saying I hate all meat-eaters because you just whined about vegetarians.
bfg -- I have decided to take you up on your challenge. I bought all the things you recommend and I will start this regimen in the next day or so. I'm concerned about taking so much fiber on the onset.....it seems it'd be better to ease into the 6 pills a day. Maybe starting with 3 for a week, then 4 a week, and so on. I don't know, I'm hesitant about that part of the regimen, YES I know it's an integral part and I plan to do it -- just thinking easing into it will be better. Let me know what you think.
I went to Wal*Mart today to return some bp gel and ended up buying the oxy soap, chill factor wash, and the fiber tablets for this regimen. I'm pretty excited, haha.
It's kinda gross- but I've always dealt with constipation. SO, I always had a thought that my acne could very well be an indication of my poor diet, or just the way my body processes everything. So I can see this really working for me. I love the idea of not "wearing" any gross medications either. However, I wonder if wearing makeup makes a difference to this regimen?
I will carry on, starting tonight and see how it turns out. It would be pretty sweet if I can effectively get rid of my acne... that way, I can deal with some of my darn scars.
hey jelly hows regimen going for you? your cheeks burn because the content of the soap bar is SA. As your lesions heal, the burning won't be as intensified.
Congrats all on trying it.
Remember the first stage is the drawing up effect. Which acne will be pulled to the surface. Its important to remember this is not your acne worsening as its your acne being drawn up to the surface of the skin so it can be drain and heal. Use a sewing needle to prick the whitehead and then drain the fluid out of the cyst or pimple.
WoW so many people trying the reg out now. 😀 Within the first day you will notice this is a much different reg. then ones you have tried in the past. Especially in a day or two when you take some of the biggest dumps you have taken in a long time. It will make you feel light and energized. Taking 6 fiber pills a day is the best way to start out. Its not hard on your system in fact its just the opposite its great for your system. jellyfish burning cheek sensation should start to subsided when his lesions heal up. Especially if your skin has been really raw from so much hard pounding cystic acne. Although I think he got it to subsided by applying a little less bar soap to the area. This reg normally doesn't cause burning sensations. If it does its only very temporary until your skin heals to something of normal skin.
Here are some product recommendations that are outside the reg. But I recommend them because they are really good. All can be had at WAL-MART or any major drug store.
For shampoo I have found the Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo for Normal to Oily Hair works really great. Picture of it in the link below.
http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp...amp;catid=11936
I recommend the walmart brand antibacterial soap. Its the clear liquid soap kind. You should wash your hands before you do the reg. To prevent whatever you been touching from going on your face.
I recommend Irish spring bath soap. This soap doesn't cause the skin irritation that allot of other soaps do.
I recommend plus+white toothpaste. As this toothpaste will get your teeth you know what freaking white. I have not found a toothpaste that works as well as this does.
Also if you start running out of the oxy chill factor you can get a little more by turning the cap and lifting up this will reveal a much larger whole in which you can scrape allot more out. Put the cap quickly back on and you can reopen it like this way to get a little more out when you do the reg again.
If you have to use hair gel. I dont recommend it but if you have to. The only one I would use and doesn't cause breakouts is the la looks hair gel. It washes away allot cleaner then some of the other ones do. Plus it doesnt produce quite the run down effect on your face like some of the cheaper brands do.
For shaving I recommend any of the edge shaving gel products. These shaving gels are awesome and feel allot better then some of the other gels and foams I have used through the years.
the reg is going pretty well for me. the first two days i did it i lathered the soap onto my face and neck just like a normal soap so that was probably the problem. cheeks are not burning now although my acne is all neck chest and back so i have been applying a lot less soap to my cheeks and none of the bp.
the cysts on my neck are still here but they don't hurt and i am pretty confident they are healing and getting smaller.
the fiber pills have not really affected me at all as i was expecting them too at least that i have noticed. i thought i would be taking like 3 craps a day or something but its nothing like that its all the same as without the fiber. only thing i have noticed is with my stomach. i weigh 140 but i eat a ton. i eat more than my around 260 roommate and before i was taking the fiber my stomach would bloat sometimes and hurt a bit after eating but since i started taking the fiber this has not happened and i am eating tthe same so another plus i guess.
Hello all
Thanks BFG for offering a simple solution to one of my most miserable problems! I'm 37 and I have suffered for almost 20 years with cystic acne. I'm terrified to try accutane because of the potential mental side effects, and restricting my diet is not something I'm willing to do right now.
I bought all the products yesterday, and started them last night. I do have a few concerns....
1) Sorry for TMI here, but I already have very loose stools, every day. I have no underlying medical conditions causing it, except for perhaps endometriosis. I'm just hoping the fiber doesn't leave me dehydrated from an overactive bowel.
2) I started this regimen last night when I already had 3 large cysts on my face. I poked one with a pin, gently squeezed, and this morning I woke up with a sore looking, red, crusty thing on my cheek I know that's not from the regimen, but I don't know what to do with it. Should I scrape off the crust and apply any topical creams to it? Of course, like any cystic acne sufferer, I have every product known to man. So my question is, which one of the zillion products cluttering my medicine cabinet should I use? Do I apply Salisylic acid, BP, sulfur, retin-a, neosporin? UGH! I hate my face
3) What about a toner-- is this unnecessary?
4) I know this sounds REALLY gross, but has anyone ever put their own urine on an erupting cyst? I read this somewhere after a google search for cystic acne.
5) Has anyone with ridiculously oily skin tried this regimen? When I read posts about peoples' faces getting dry all over, I was actually jealous. My skin NEVER gets dry. In fact, the only part that even comes close are the cysts I pick and even then, they just get crusty while the rest of my face is an oil slick.
6) Has anyone ever tried zeolite for acne?
I think that's all for now. I'm very excited to see if this works!!!

Me too... I got the stuff @ Walmart today and just did the first treatment. Nothing to lose here for me too, been on Accutane twice, plus everything else... I have three cysts on my face right now including a new one this morning. I'll keep my fingers crossed and let everyone know what kind of results I am seeing...
exactly. when you have been suffering with cysts for so long, what is there to lose. i mean we have already wasted so much money on treatments, whats another 10 dollars. and i'm not coming from a particular good financial background either. please report back, hope the results are good. i'm still doin well.

Answers to your questions in order.
1. The fiber wont leave you dehydrated. The fiber is very safe to take.
2. I recommend scraping off the crust to let the cyst breath. And spot treat the cyst with any good bp topical. unfortunately a active cyst sorta has to run its course. Using a bp spot treat might help it along. I recommend when it comes time to do the reg to be a little more generous with the oxy chill factor in that area.
3. No toner is needed.
4. Yes I have done this and it doesn't really work. Really old urine my be better since it forms ammonium. But still I dont want my face to smell like piss all day. Plus I could barley bring myself to do it last time.
5. I have very oily skin myself. This reg will keep your oil under control but not strip your face. That is really the magic of this reg.
6. never heard of it.
I'm very confident it will work for you. 😀
hi! i just started the reg like 5 mins ago and im hoping it works well!
It will work be confident. 😀

I think you will see great results. You will probably find yourself leaving this board in about a months time or better 😀
I'd love to give it a shot...but the problem is, I don't know if we have this stuff over here (Europe). I'm going to go look for the stuff tomorrow, but does anyone suggest something similiar to these products?
If you cant find the products over their maybe one of these posters. Can ship you the products over to Europe. They can buy several of them so it last for a while. You can get the currency exchange and mail USD dollars so they can buy it etc.
Just started the reg this morning. I took 4 fiber capsules just to test the waters. Nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe I'll try 5 tomorrow.
So you're not supposed to lather up the soap? That's what I thought you were supposed to do.
Just for background, I'm only 4 months off Accutane and I can tell my acne would be coming back full-force if I hadn't noticed right away and took charge keeping it at bay. Hopefully this reg will do the trick. I really don't want to go on Accutane again, but if this doesn't work, I will.
Another thing, this morning after I wiped off the chill factor my face did feel dry so I put on moisturizer.
