okay day 2 of BFG's oxy/fiber reg.

i'm going to post my observations, in hopes of being helpful to others.

i'm realizing that it's not the oxy soap with the 'alpine scent' that smells manly, it's the chill factor. i have it on my face right now. it definitely smells nice, but sort of reminiscent of men's aftershave, haha. but as i say, small price (as a female) if it works!!

this morning my skin felt good. one new blemish, but generally on the surface.. not a deep stubborn one. which incidentally, i have a deep cyst on my chin that i am hoping will clear up soon.

the fiber. i suspect this is going to be very individual for everyone. i have no idea how large or small BFG is as a person. human bodies react differently. males and females react differently. size can matter too. BFG suggests 6 fiber capsules, based on what he uses. i suspect 3-4 daily capsules are going to be my limit. i take the fiber and find myself on the toilet (sorry) within the hour... and it's not pretty. haha. but that's me.

i leave town tomorrow and am a bit nervous about how this may affect my diligence with the reg.

k So I'm on day 3 or 4 of this regimen and my skin is gettin worse. I'm getting alot of white heads now, and I never usually get that type of acne.. I'm also seeing alot more tiny bumps being brought up to the surface just at the surface that I know weren't there before.. I know this is to be expected so I'm not really worried, I just hate the way my face looks right now... BFG said these were pimples that were going to come up anyway... the reg just speeds it up. So if anyones feeling a little discouraged I would read what he said first and be prepared for that breakout.. I wasn't. I'm also taking the 6 pills ..and I don't think they're working... I'm not gonna get graphic but lets just say very little has been happenin in that department...and I was going more without them. :doubt:

day 3 of this oxy/fiber thing.

i don't think i will changing my fiber dosage any time soon. i take 3 capsules instead of the suggested 6. well, 3 does the trick for me.. and almost immediately. if i took any more fiber, i could be on the toilet all day (sorry, but true). so i am sticking with 3 for now. i know, what a rebel.

day 3 and as with yesterday, i woke up with a brand new spot on my face. i obviously wasn't thrilled about it.. like the rest of the world, i want instant gratification!! luckily not a deep pimple, so hopefully will clear up soon. patience, patience.. will see what happens.

when you have the chill factor on your face, it can sort of feel like drinking a slurpee really fast.. freezy brain. especially when cooler air hits it.

leaving town today, will try to update after return.

Hey, I'm new to the boards as of today, but a few weeks ago I broke out really badly. I'm 15, and have always had acne on my forehead, not bad, but noticable. I blame it on my long hair that almost goes to my eyes because I USED to never have it but on my forhead. For the past year my acne has been getting steadily worse to the point where, as of 1 month ago i have 10-15 large spots on either side of my face. I went to the derm, they prescribed me with Ziana, some antibiotics, and some 10% BP wash. Well took the antibiotics, and reasearched Ziana, read is was awful, never used it. At first, for 1 week I used the BP as a wash in the shower, but for the past week I used it with dans reg, only to realize yesterday that 10% was completely stupid to leave on. I picked up neutrogena on the spot yesterday and have used it since. My face is wrinkly, cracked, and flaking, and it hurts a lot to smile or laugh. I blame that all on myself because I was an idiot for using 10% instead of 2.5%. I have to admit, my face doesnt look much better, but most of my acne is flat and painless, it was bumpy and painful a week ago. I do have a few cysts that persist to hurt, but they usually occur on my forehead(dad had the same thing, i blame genetics). Anyway the red marks are still very apparent and my chin has began to break out, only very tiny ones, along with the rest of my face. I just dont think my face can take dans reg, its killer, i know i should wait out and see, but it hurts so bad, yet again, i blame myself for the 10%. I read that the way dans reg works, the bp can permanently or at least for a while, damage the skin and I was hoping that this reg is less ow-inducing. I hate to quit his reg so soon because a lot of people say it works well, but i hope this one is less ow-inducing.

man I cant do this reg anymore... i hate to discourage ppl and if it worked for you thats great but Its only making my acne worse and my forehead looks mad wrinkled... the bp really ages your skin... So I'm still using the products but a little bit differently..

I'm washing with the oxy bar 2x a day with lots of water

Only using the BP as spot treatment on existing acne and washing it off after 10 mins

+

Aspirin mask

... My skins already improving since last night.

If you can handle the 10% 2x a day then go for it... for me it was just too much.. good luck guys

I'm on the same boat. I've had to quit using this reg because not only was it way too harsh for my skin, It was also making my skin look much older from the BP ( i also experienced the wrinkled forehead which i never had before) which has gone away since I've stopped using the washes) and I was noticing something I've never ever had before, whenever a pimple would pop, even on it's own, It would leave a little scab and when the scab would come off it would leave a big deep HOLE! I posted a bulletin on the other website about this. I've had acne for years and I've never experienced anything like it. they weren't just enlarged pores, they were actual holes about the size of the pimple. It started happening to every pimple I got and I had to stop using the wash. I also noticed scaring I never had before and enlarged pores. Good luck to the people who are using it and seeing results. This just wasn't right for me and it was really doing a number on my face. Your face is the most delicate part on your body. I think for some woman it will be way too harsh but, that's just my opinion. I'm now going with all natural. I just rinse my face in the morning and night and I've been applying apple cider vinegar with a cotton ball every night. I've already noticed a difference in my face and acne. I also drink 2 tablespoons in my energy drink everyday (I can't handle the taste in water) Someone at a grocery store who was on the same isle who also suffered from acne randomly started talking to me about using ACV on the face for acne and scars so, i bought some, came home and did some research on it and was amazed by all the testimonials. the website is [Removed] Good luck to everyone no matter what you're using! =] and I don't wanna hear anything about me bashing this regimine or how it just didn't work cause I didn't use it long enough, if you saw the sudden damage it was doing to my face and how much better it looks since I've stopped you'd understand where I'm coming from.

fortunately i found a regimen 3 months ago that has been working very well on my skin so im not going to change it. i did however go out today and buy the fiber pills. im going to add those to my current regimen. i think i will start with 2-3 pills a day. six seems like a bit much.

Im currently on my second week on this reg and I have seen improvement. The thing i wonder about is how this reg effects skin long term? So BFG you have been using this for years? Has your skin gotten more wrinkled because of this? Are there any other users to comment on this issue? Because if this reg really works I might just stick with it, but I don't wanna get wrinkles because of it.

Hey everyone

I have been on the regimen for just over 4 weeks now. I have severe acne on my face and chest and i regularly get cysts on both. When i started this regimen i thought i was going to clear up in no time. In the first week, the regimen worked wonders and my skin almost cleared. The second week came and i got a slight breakout, of which i thought would clean up in no time, which it did to a degree, but new spots appeared. At the start of the third week i was dealing with a few red marks and some new spots. At the end of the third week, beginning of the fourth i was dealing with spots that i havent really had before, in addition to some new cysts. Now im halfway through my fourth week i am still dealing with these. I am getting cysts and spots in some places i havent broken out in ages, my chin and forehead for example. I have these dark spots too, they seem to be slightly darker than ones im used to getting, but they don't feel like them. If i squeezed one it was very hard to get any puss out. They aren't raised or painful. I thought these could be a result of the psyllium husks bringing up the deepest spots to the surface of my skin. Does this sound reasonable? I am going to keep at this regimen because the results i had in the first week gave me alot of hope.

Thanks guys

yea, this is what i want to know too before i start taking the fiber pills. i read earlier today on bfg's website that the fiber pills can cause you to break out. i thought that everyone who was complaining about breakouts were breaking out from the oxy products. i have made so much progress with my skin in the last 3 months- i would hate to start breaking out like crazy again. i just thought by adding the fiber pills i would get 100% clear but never mind. i think i will return them. its not worth taking the risk.

I have been on this reg for two weeks now and my skin has improved and I hope it will be improving till i get completely clear skin. The thing i find funny or strange is that on this topic here:

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Biggest-M...ne-t102347.html

They warn against bar soaps because they can clog pores

"2. Are in bar form. These contain harsh cleansing agents like sodium cocoate, and the ingredients that keep them in bar form can be absorbed into the skin to clog pores. Also, many bar soaps have alkaline pH levels, which actually encourages bacterial growth."

Well I don't know that much about acne, but I don't think this statement is entirely true, because in this regimen one uses a bar soap cleanser and it works for some people too.

Another strange thing I found in the topic when regarding what kind of cleansers not to buy was this:

"5. Are medicated. If the medication contains a chemical exfoliant like salicylic acid, the cleanser is almost certain to have too high of a pH (over 4) to allow it to act as an exfoliant. Chances are that the majority of any medictation used in a cleanser will be washed away before having any real effect. If you let a medicated cleanser (either one containing a chemical exfoliant or one containing benzoyl peroxide) sit on the skin in hopes of giving the medications time to penetrate, than chances are you'll also be allowing the cleansing agents time to irritate the skin."

I am not ridiculing the topic creator in any way, but it is strange that she warns about these things when these kind of products clearly work for some people...

What do you guys/girls think of this?

alright. ive been reading and reading and reading and reading hoping someone would have already asked this question haha, but..nope...so here goes!

BFG!: FIRST OF ALLLLLLL:i just started taking accutane about a month ago, and i dont doubt accutane at all because it cures about 70% of people who take it, which is pretty incredible. but it sucks because im not suppose to use my perscription topicals or anything, so im still breaking out. since none of the things in your regimen or harsh, is it possible to do at the same time? if i did, i wouldnt judge your regimen with the results, because it would be a different combination than what you suggest. i just know theres a lot of things you definitely shouldnt take with accutane, like Vit. A, etc. if everything is over the counter, it doesnt sound like it would be a huge problem. i only have two cysts right now (compared to the 10 i had when i started accutane), and i really wnat to look my best for my cousin wedding (allllll my family whom i havent seen in years will be here, and i dont want them to think THIS is how i look)...its in a little over a month. since you took accutane i thought i would ask.

SECOND! im a tiny little 95 pound college freshman. i am smmmaaalll! when i get the flu, it takes me three weeks to gain my weight back. i also have a mild form of irritable bowel syndrom (IBS, ohhh what fun!!), and it doesnt keep my skin clear in the least bit haha. im kind of terrified to take 6 pills that act like a laxative!! honestly now, did it give you the poops right away? not to be crude, because i know im not talking like a lady right now, i was just wondering, because i cant afford to do that to myself. i dont need ANY help gettin' my food throught these intestines haha, they work over time, its annoying.

I have so much invested in accutane, i do the pregnancy tests, the birth control, all of that, it seems so pointless to drop it all for your miracle regimen, but is it possible to do both? honestly now, sir!

thank you for your loyalty to the board. its heroic how you want to help people who have suffered what you have suffered. its more painful than any porcelain-skinned person could ever imagine

okay. well i cannot say that my skin is looking spectacular. in fact, you would not catch me dead in public without my makeup.

i must admit, my diet and discipline has gone a bit to the wayside over the last week, as i have been having fun out of town. even still though, i have been trying to do what i can, use the OXY daily, take my vitamins, etc..

i have noticed that this OXY/ FIBER reg does bring acne 'to a head' at a faster rate.. zits surface and are poppable much quicker.. but still my skin is not looking great. i have also noticed something weird. i am getting pimples in strange places on my face, for example: eyebrow, lip, neck. it's as if the zits are going to come out regardless, surfacing out of bounds of the soap and cream. and yes, after my zits pop, i am getting little pore-size scabs, as i read is happening to others in the thread.

i have not given up on this reg yet. still have hope, we'll see what happens.

. I am a 23 year old female. Just recently got acne. Was clear all through my teens. I have one very large cyst on my left cheek. It hurts very bad. I have tried pro active, and almost everything at Target and WalMart for acne! Nothing has worked! I have been to the derm twice. First time she injected cortisone into 2 cysts. both went away within a few days the one on my cheek came back within a week. It is big and soft and redish purple. The second time the derm put me on doxycycline 100mg 2 times a day, duac topical in the morning and differin at night. It is not doing anything so far...it has only been a week but no improvement at all. I am having a hard time with this especially being the holiday season...I dont want to go anywhere or do anything. This really sucks....any advice.

i am realizing that i cannot do the OXY part of this reg in the shower. i HAVE to use a washcloth at the sink.. no moderating this for me! if the soap and/or cream gets on any other part of my body (such as neck) my skin freaks out- huge, itchy, red welts, that i imagine to be in reaction to the BP. i only have facial acne.

I had to stop this reg too, I know I love it at first, but my husband and mum have commented that my skin looks dull and I feel like it looks a little wrinkly (cant have that yet!).

I'm using a different reg now, developed but dermatologists check it out:
