Who had successful (punch) excisions? Preparation & Aftercare Tips

Hello everyone. Im planning several punch excisions and would like to know if anyone here had a successful excision with a doctor where the scar is nearly invisible or at least significantly improved after subsequent treatments like CO2?

I have previously had several unsuccessful excisions where the wound edges did not heal inconspicuously or widened again. At best, they looked like before, sometimes much worse.

I must admit that I did not prepare or follow up well. My diet was poor, I smoked, had acne, and did not rest the area.

Now, I want to do everything right and believe the following factors are very important. If you have additional tips, please share!

Choice of Surgeon: A dermatologist with additional training in surgery who regularly performs facial surgical procedures, such as tumor removals.

Precautionary Measures: Initially correct only one area and wait.

Before the Procedure:

- Ensure very good blood values, possibly evaluate them beforehand. I refer to the optimal values suggested by Dr. Attia and/or Dr. Huberman.
- Increase protein and carbohydrate intake.
- Consider taking supplements that aid wound healing, such as Vitamin C, collagen, etc.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Strict no-smoking policy, at least 6 weeks.
- Strict sun avoidance.

After the Procedure:

- Maintain a very good diet, possibly continue taking supplements.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Get sufficient sleep on your back.
- Keep the wound area sterile, dry, and free of tension, meaning reduce facial expressions.
- No nicotine.
- Avoid sun exposure.

  1. And keep in mind that a scar can remain quite "fragile" for up to a year.

I like your plan a lot. Start with 1 and see how it goes first, good stuff.

Also, I like the health stuff too like no smoking. The only thing I don't understand is eating carbs beforehand? Why is that?
