Hello. I bought a hand pump to treat tethered scars, as advised on this forum from owndoc website (I used the search function) but it doesn't seem to work. I've tried to follow the instructions to the letter but it doesn't seem to create a suction effect. Has anyone used it and knows how to make it work? I'm entering that critical period for suction today and can't believe this isn't working!
Thanks.
Hi, what hand pump are you using? And how many times a day do you suction?
I got one from owndoc but doesn't work. I also got a normal one from amazon (chinese suction cup) with smaller cups and use it. I started yesterday and do it 3x a day. I'll do it for 4 weeks. Bruising and swelling is normal as far as I researched in this forum. In fact, it is expected, because it's the blood that will help with the regeneration and stuff and helping filling the atrophic scar. I'm following this protocol for 4 weeks, then nothing for 1 month, then will do microneedling at home (1 session), and then once the 3 month mark is passed, I'll get my 3rd subcision but this time with filler. Finger's crossed for this to work...
It's crazy because subcision leaves my atrophic scar completely leveled with the skin, but the it retethers. Thats why I'm doing suction now, and will do filler on the next one. I want to take care of the "creater" first, getting it leveled with the skin, and once that is achieved I will go for texturization through peels/laser. That's the protocol I got from massive research here and on the web. Cheers.
@pinokyu thank you! I will definitely use suction when I get subcision. How do you feel about the Chinese suction cups? I ordered some off Amazon. Also, how many seconds do you suction?
Best regards.

They work, and that's all that matters to me. They leave my skin red and slightly contused (although I take the procedure lightly), but it's part of the process...
I do about 5 seconds, 4-5 passes, on each scar (I only have one, so to speak, or two smaller that give the impression of a bigger one) 3 times per day. I'll do it for 4 weeks.
