Doing subcision. Should I pair it with Fractional CO2 or RF micro needling?

Will be doing subcision for my atrophic scars on my temple and forehead. The doctor suggested adding CO2/RF micro needling to see greater improvement.

The treatment will be as follows:
Subcision, wait 1 month
CO2/RF micro needling, wait 1 month
Repeat 3 times

Would CO2 or RFM be better for acne scarring, especially in the forehead and temple area where skin is thin and there isnt much flesh?

Thanks everyone

Neither, suction in my personal experience is the only way to get a decent result post subcision.

you can move to energy devices when your subdermal fibrosis is gone, your doc just wants your money now though.

did 8 yes 8 combination treatments sub + energy device saw marginal improvement. Did two subcision followed by suctioning for 6 weeks and my temple scars are gone overall appearance is finally improving after throwing so much money away. In fact I had a subcision that I couldnt follow with suctioning because it was part of a peel procedure and when I resumed the sub suction protocol my tethering was once again worse. Leads me to believe that in us lucky few that are prone to scarring any subcision that isnt followed by a method to buoy healing and prevent retethering leads to more fibrosis. Havent tried the liberator so that might be an exception but the risk profile seems pretty high so Im sticking with cannula for now. We heal all wrong whether its a pimple doing the damage or a needle.

Hi, are you saying that I should do about 2-3 subcisions first, and only then move on to energy devices? If so, which should I be using, CO2 or RF microneedling?

Thanks!

I agree that suction with subcision is a good idea most likely.

As far as whether you can do them together or not or have to do the subcisions first I'm not sure.

@templescars Yeah the issue is combination treatments preclude you from suctioning. So your scars retether and you end up with really radiant skin thats still full of rolling and boxcar scars. Theyll try to sell you filler to stop retethering but dr Steven weiner did a video where he proves with ultrasound that also doesnt work. So unfortunately you really do have to do one thing at a time, sub+suction sessions followed by other methods when your scars are untethered.

I cant speak to rf microneedling and I dont have much faith in fractional laser. Saw a doc on real self make a case for fully ablative laser being the only laser worth your time for scar revision.
