OH and another thing, that pic gumby included of guy with the pre and post acne scarring - in the post pic his face looks so red and inflamed, i'm sure the miraculous results have something to do with oedema/inflammation as his cheeks look massively puffier compared to his pre pic, unless the guy gained 10kilos or something.

GUMBY - really really really waiting on a pic of you as you are now.

I know i've asked you this before - but i'm gonna ask again, objectively (no emotion involved) - how bad was your scarring really? i got a feeling your scarring was really really superficial. Plz tell me i'm wrong. Did you have box cars/ ice picks etc...?

How many peels did it take to "remove" the scars from your forehead??

Gumby dude, if ur truthful about ur experience with curing ur acne scarring, ur inspirational!! you really really are.

Also, i think you should leave emo forum and come join us at SCAR treatments - WE NEED U more!!! lol

Dear Gumby,

Would you mind taking a web cam pic of your facial skin and posting it please.

Hey Gumby! Is it a bad idea do needles on scarred pores? (they are very small, but they are scars anyway!)....will it not just make the scar worse or have you tried needling on scarred pores?

Thanks man

I didnt have scarred pores but I recall people CROSSing theirs with some success so it would seem doable, tho you never know how irritating a pore might turn out.

My advice would be to try ONE and see what happens.

Either tca crossing OR needling will work excellent on scarred pores. Take yer pick; I've done both....even to the same scar.

Gumby,

Do you remember what type and strength of peel you did you even out your skin at the end?

Some of my scars are totally non-discernable. I'm still working on my scars though....I had DOZENS of scarred pores.

I'm considering a 35% tca peel (my second) next year sometime. I'm seeing how my 4th needling is going to turn out. I'm only at week 5 and the collagen is till coming in nicely.

As I said before, I had 2 compliments in one week at how much better my skin looked. My best friend even mentioned the "PITTED" scarring was VASTLY improved (she's the one who used the word "pitted").

My skin is nowhere near perfect; thanks to Mama's genes, I have enlarged pores.....some sebaceous hyperplasia lesions....but it's improved so much in the past 2 1/2 years it's astonishing. I cannot argue with the results. No, I don't have pics; I didn't get my digital camera until after I started scar treatments, and no, I don't care if people think I'm making this stuff up.

Robc,

Sorry to say this but don't get overly excited as if you mean Sunday as in the last 36 hours then what you are seeing is purely swelling. It does take a long time to actually fill in with real collagen.

Thanks Lexy!  I appreciate it!  One really severe chicken pox scar I've had on my chin since I was a young child is almost totally gone.

It was one of those scars that quite literally looked exactly like a big zero:  O

In other words, the borders of the scar were totally sunken, but the skin inside the border was totally smooth and unsunken.

That is almost totally gone....the extremely sunken edges of the scar are TOTALLY gone around about 80% of the scar, with about 20% left.  As for the acne scars I got needled, they are filling in well also. eusa_clap.gif

One day Lexy I hope to hear your scar revision victory story!! biggrin.gif  wink.gif

Have you decided to get Exoderm?

Do you guys know of a really good Dr. doing needling and TCA cross, preferably around Los Angeles. However I would be willing to travel. I just couldn't do it on my own. Unfortunately I would have to wait since I just had exoderm done and so far after $5000 dollars plus travel expenses, I see no obvious results. I could not even name a percentage because all my pores and even the shallowest of my scars look the same to me. Maybe after the peeling subsides and the pink color decreases I will see a somewhat softer fresher texture similar to the Makeupartist peel that costs around 200$.

Sorry to hear you had no noticeable results so far. How long has it been since your mask came off? Odd to think that $5000 didn't do anything.

Just a little update~~~one of the little scars that I needled on the 3rd of Oct appears to be filling in just a little. There wasn't any noticable swelling in this particular scar after the needling. It's not even red anymore. I'll wait until about the 3rd of Nov and do it again but on more scars this time. We shall see. biggrin.gif

Also~ just a thought~ I accidentally gouged out a chunk of skin on one of my thumbs~ it wasn't small~ it took 1 month to completely fill in~ you can barely tell it's there, only that it's a little red~made me think of collagen production and needling.

Funny you mention that I took a good chunk out of my finger accidentally on a grater about a week and a half ago. Kept it covered with neosporin and a bandage for 3 days. One the fourth day it still looked quite indented. Now it has pretty much filled in and hardly noticeable. Who says the face is the most forgiving when it comes to scars?

Denise!

I have an 0 scar just like yours. Mine is from acne but looks just like a chicken pox mark. I tried Laser, Subsicion (made it worse), peels, microderm, dermablading, thermage and fillers. Restalyne made it look better but next if the Fraxel doesn't make it close up, I will do Sculptra so stimulate my own collagen. Fraxel has definitely softened it up. I have only had two though. Congrats on your results! If i can get rid of this awful one that is healing right now, I swear I am never going to get another!

That's great! Please continue to update the board. We need to know what really works and what doesn't!
