I developed acne scars on my left and right cheeks about a year ago from cystic acne even though I was on tret.
what can I do about these scars to improve or erase? Will subcision, cross, laser, etc work?
I had one derm tell me my scars were moderate-severe and another tell me they were mild and shallow. What is the case?
appreciate any advice and help.
I feel like the above is a good thing to explore, I personally think it's a large enough radius to perhaps look into dermabrasion which worked really well for me. But the difference is your texture seems raw/ambiguous where mine was just icepicks all over. I would try what getsmart thinks but consider something very ablative like dermabrasion or any laser that might work well I think you have more to gain than lose.
Truth be told you likely need a trustworthy experienced doctor and probably need 3 things or something like that. It's going to take some effort, patience, and expertise to try and figure the chronology of things to do that's the big thing, get it in the right order.

Do you have any before and afters of dermabrasion? Or do you recommend anyone to do it? I am Asian if that makes a difference

No unfortunately I took no pictures back in 1999-2003 and got it in 2004/2005. But it basically turned many icepicks completely level and indistinguishable, and many are just pore scars now which still irk me a whole lot though.Your scars are wider or more red or more textural than mine were. Yours don't seem particularly deep just generally very red and inflamed and sort of wide or rolling in nature. I mean I'm not an expert on this I just feel maybe an ablative resurfacing would work well at some point. Truth is many scars are level just red. If they weren't so red they'd be pretty much indistinguishable.
Getsmart think subscision cross might help alleviate some of that initially to where maybe you could resurface better.

Is something like erbium laser ablative? Or fraxel? Sorry not experienced at all with this sort of thing

Well erbium full ablative is I think there's many types of erbium, fraxel not really and useless probably. But I don't know the chronological order I'd try ablative really. The redness is definitely causing a "depth" effect basically a red slightly uneven area will look deep at angles when it's really not.
I would tell you to try to fix any depth issues like getsmart said and/or let it fade/heal because those scabs are from isotretrin obviously (I got them too), because then maybe it'll be better to resurface the full top layer to blend it all. If I were to choose ablation I would gamble with dermbrasion first since I personally had great success, maybe erbium next since others tout it a lot.
