They injector that wouldn't do sculptra is an idiot. Its so subtle, and it's not even a filler
A couple of his assistants mentioned that he was thinking of retiring in the next one to two years when I was there.
hmm, yeah but now I have it in my head not to do it. Maybe Ill change my mind by the time the procedure rolls around. I believe he charges around 600 for a vial of sculptra so I will think about it as Im sure the laser will melt some of my fat.
how are you doing? How is your healing going? Hope youre doing well.

I'm good!
Who charges 600 for sculptra?
Sooooo if you guys want your Taylor lib done by Dr. Taylor, better do it now.
Just had a close family member tell me to stop doing treatments, that my face is not getting any better.
this is terribly depressing and honestly makes me feel so bad. Do you guys really see any improvement? I feel like it has gotten better but of course still have a way to go.
what do you guys think honestly?

Physical sanding like sandpaper would be better or high powered co2 full ablation or dermabrasion. Just saw a video of rahimi doing abrasion

fuck him. This is your business and only yours. You are definitely improved and you will be better if you will keep doing your treatments.
I cant understand how it works, but your face looks absolutely beautiful under the sun, while it should be otherwise according to my understanding of scars and lighting.
Declare total war on you scars and depression - diet, treatments, lifestyle, emotional support etc. You will get past your sad days.

honestly, you look beautiful and I can't see any reason to stop improving your skin and getting yourself out of it. Have you ever considered Co2 on edges? I didnt read the whole thread.

Thank you so much! I really needed some support. Its so crazy how we are so invested (emotionally/financially) in our scar revision and others cant see that and put us down for it. Like, do they think we want to keep doing this. Its exhausting. But I also cant stop treatments and live the rest of my life constantly thinking of how my scars look. I have such a public facing job that it is excruciating to have nonstop people looking at my face.
really disappointed.
I am scheduled for mixto with Dr. Rahimi June 15th but have also scheduled with Dr Rullan for July 26th for phenol cross/erbium/ possible sculptra and possible excision of a couple of my temple scars.
I think I will postpone Dr Rahimi as I dont really believe his mixto will help and it is 3000.
I want to hear what Dr Rullan has to say about my scarring. Hopefully he has some new input. Eventually I know I will do phenol peel to smooth out texture but I would like my scars as raised as possible with manual methods.
I have not pursued phenol cross before but as I feel I have mostly shallow boxscar scarring I hope this will help. And of course it will be a little cheaper than Dr Rahimi.
i have also started micro needling at home. I will do it once a month. It has so many mixed reviews but I might as well do something while waiting for Dr treatments.
glad I have this community to bounce ideas off of and lean on.

He says 3000 for one time and touch ups are 500. So thats good. If he can really show improvement. Dr rullan erbium and cross should not cost more since Subcison is his most expensive procedure. So somewhere around 1100. So you can almost get 3 sessions. Which could be more effective. But overall improvement no idea since erbium is no that strong and phenol cross is scar area limited.
have you ever thought of doing rf needling in the hopes that it might generate collagen.
by the way how long have the swelling last after Taylor liberator. Any numbness in the area. Also wondering if you ever popped acne ?
Alright guys I have an update. I needed some time off the site as I was getting into a downward spiral constantly thinking about my situation.
I ended up cancelling my laser with Dr. Rahimi and went to Dr. Rullan 7/26 for erbium and phenol cross. I was gonna cancel as I was having a hormonal breakout on my jawline/ neck and was pretty embarrassed. I decided to go anyway and Dr. Rullan was great. He is so calm and understanding. He did quite a few Kenalog shots and drainage for my deep cysts(now under control with birth control pills and spironolactone).
He also did the phenol cross, then erbium laser, then rubbed the scabs off with gauze, then another round of erbium.
he gave me some dearly needed moral support and asked me to share my story to help others. He seems like a genuinely good guy who really wants to help acne scar sufferers.
When I went to my appointment I was peeling on my jaw/ neck area from a TCA 25% peel I had done. He was pretty surprised and thought it was funny. But I told him Id been doing it for years which we had a good laugh over. I cant imagine how much worse I would look if I didnt have my TCA peels over the years.
As far as pricing, I am giving 500 deposit to hold appointment and paying 800 once there for a total of 1300 for phenol cross and erbium. Very reasonable to me and I would like to have three sessions total.
I managed to snag a cancellation for another round of erbium/ phenol cross for 9/1. (He is booked about a month and a half in advance at all times). At this appointment, Ill ask about my future options. I wont bring up the phenol peel just so I can see what he suggests for me. I do have plans for the phenol peel early next year when I can snag two weeks off work for recovery.
anyway, I do have hypopigmentation from the procedure but overall my scarring does seem better and softer. I am happy and feel like I am getting good improvement to the general appearance of my scarring.
Ill include a variety of pics and lighting below. Please note I have makeup on as I do still have some hyperpigmentation on my jawline/ upper neck from my hormonal breakout.
getsmart21, did I pop my pimples? Of course there were times I did and times I did not. Whether I did or not, they would scar. Dr Rullan asked me the same thing and when I told him the same, he said it is the jelly and pus inside that eats away healthy tissue and leads to scarring. His recommendation is to get it out as soon as possible to prevent further scarring.

as you can see, looks different depending on angle and light as always, but much improved to my eyes.
please please let me know why you guys think. Overall I feel in a much better place, both on outlook and emotionally. If this helps one person who has scarring on my level, it will be worth it
(cant get rid of these pictures on the bottom , theyre repeats I think)

I agree. Just do the phenol peel and it will solve majority (if not all) of your problem half a year afterward. Extra cross+erbium is just excessive, adding little or no value to eventual outcome.
Interesting that you say that froyosh. My understanding was that the phenol peel only helps with shallowest of scars and so I want to do at least one more erbium + phenol cross to improve my chances.
as I have multiple box scars I really want to soften the edges as much as possible before phenol peel.
Ill discuss it with Dr. Rullan and see what he says.

IMO, your scars are already soft enough. Phenol peel will be able to smooth out the remaining "waves".
Hi everyone,
I had another phenol cross/erbium with Dr. Rullan on 9/1/22. I brought up my concerns about the hypopigmentation and he didnt seem too worried about it. He told me to use latisse eye drops I think. He put in a prescription for a generic I believe, I will look into it and get back to you guys.
he also suggested retin a micro and vitamin c for overall pigmentation. I use regular retin a but he says micro works better and gave me a couple samples which was nice.
He mentioned the scarring looked better but said and I quote, we have a lot of work to do. Ehh what can you do? Story of my life.
I asked his thoughts on the phenol peel but he didnt suggest it for me. He wants to wait and see if we can get results with the phenol cross/erbium.
Im not saying I want to do the phenol peel but I sure do think I need it. Im surprised he didnt agree but I know some other posters had to convince him as well.
im pretty surprised esp due to the severity of my scarring and how its on such a large area. I dont think its about my skin tone. Maybe hes just conservative with it?
doesnt matter to much because I dont know when I will have two weeks off work to be able to do it plus scrounging up the 6500 plus travel, lodging, etc.
anyway, Im healing up, will probs post pics in closer to two weeks once the swelling is down.
I swell up so much with just the cross/erbium. Seems crazy to me as its just on the surface. Does anybody else get that?

So you went for another round of treatment just after ~1 month since your last one? Is that what Dr. Rullan suggested? That's a pretty close though.
Btw, looks you didn't do subcision? Then how did you get numbed for Erbium? Just numbing cream? One thing I found that Dr. Rullan seems to do Erbium very gently. From pictures I saw, people did not get much bleeding and they healed within 3-4 days without pinkish left for weeks.
Does Dr. Rullan think you won't even need phenol peel to achieve the goal?

Its the combination that works better erbium by itself is weak. When combined with cross it can blend the edges of the scar. With the abrasion technique.
also one month is too soon the results atleast start appearing in a month time.

I believe subcison would be very successful in your temple and upper cheek areas, i use to have white-ish colored scars on my temples as well but its filled in and gone
Did you use fillers? The white-ish colored tissue should be scar bands. Did you do nokor or cannula subcision? Or even Taylor Liberator? We need to deal with two issues: 1) ensure the scar band is cut; 2) prevent retether.
So Dr Rullan was very hesitant about saying anything about the phenol peel to me. Ill see what he says on the next visit.
yes I had my second visit about 5 weeks after the first one. I know its cutting it close but it worked with my schedule. Dr Rullan suggested 6-8 weeks for another appointment so Ill probs do a third one in November sometime.
I dont do subcision as Ive had plenty of it and it stopped helping after the first couple times.
He does not numb the area when I go in for erbium, phenol cross. The first time this was very painful. Now that I know, I took 1000 mg of Tylenol and this helped a lot. The most painful part is the gauze abrasion after the erbium. This last time he did it twice and it was still bad.
Scars are looking very good but I might still have some microswelling. Will wait to post pics.
23 hours ago, Insearch said:Thats the problem, subcision would help you but you cant afford 100 subcision session
I think subcision has taken me as far as it can and I need to focus on other modalities.
Dr. Rullan has never mentioned it to me either so I think he agrees that surface/ ablative treatments are the best for me.
The money(within reason!) is not really the issue here to be honest. I work a lot and am very fortunate to have extra hours and overtime at my work so I am able to relatively easily save up for my treatments.
At my age I feel like Ive wasted so much of my life to my skin that I really am just laser focused on improvement and feel good about the tx plan that I am on.
Of course, Im always open to advice and suggestions.

I hear you, I just did an extensive subcision treatment and my scars are similar to yours so Ill wait to heal before I give any more input on treatments but so far with subcision, its a slow process but the scars are going away as I do more treatments and Ive only really started this summer. I did a few times few years ago and here and there in between. Im speaking about diy subcision using a smaller needle than nokor, but Ive had about 15 done with a doctor using a nokor needle.
