I lost a lot of weight mostly from my face. I thought it would be a good look for my appearance but I was sadly mistaken lol it just made me look older and brought out so many acne scars that were barely noticeable before. I guess my chubby cheeks were masking the acne scars. So now Im trying to chase the impossible and look younger and have my scars be less noticeable. Ive gotten subcision and filler done but I dont think it really did much tbh. And Ive done so much research that I think subcision Is good only if you absolutely know you have tethered scarring. My scars Im not sure whether they are tethered but to me it make sense that filler should help with making the scars a lot less noticeable since the lack of fullness in my face is what made the scars appear more so filler should be the answer right?? So Im just wondering whether anyone has got any recommendations. I have overall volume loss like fat atrophy.
I think a lot of doctors are capable of injecting your face with filler for scars or fat atrophy. It's not as specialized as scar treatment. I think lifting scars with filler requires a little more skill but overall it's a straightforward task.
Most fillers can be dissolved so the doctor can do trial and error with your face. It's like this: see scar, then inject. If ya miss, move the needle.
It's only Bellafill that the doctor needs to worry about lumps.
I've seen plastic surgeons do filler on depressed areasand they are not scar experts.

Ill definitely ask my derm about this! I kinda feel weird asking though it seems like such a cosmetic thing to ask her so I feel uncomfortable lol

I just don't want you to get ripped off. It's like Botox. There are so many qualified professionals who can inject you with that so you don't need to spend 2X with one doctor over another.
But there aren't many doctors who can't competentlydo TCA Cross or lasers. Hope that gives you perspective.
