Thank you for you answer and so happy that you have improvement woth your scar. This is my scar under some of the worst light. Is this rolling scars?
Hey @Tronitus09, sorry to butt in, but I have scars that look pretty similar to the way yours did before you saw Dr. Rullan and am in the process of researching doctors/procedures at the moment. I was wondering if the $2,500 you paid was a flat fee that includes all future sessions, or if it only covered the 2 sessions you've had so far.
Also, since you're on the East Coast and said you tried many local doctors before flying out to California, I was wondering if you had any experience with Dr. Khrom in Brooklyn, NY.
You're skin is looking great and makes me feel a lot more optimistic about this scary process! 😊
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately that is the price for one single treatment
Hi friends, I had my second appointment with Dr. Rullan yesterday. It went well! Always a pleasure to see him. We did: vbeam (for redness), HA filler, phenol cross, cannula subcision and erbium laser.
I am attaching some pics I had them take of me (they also took their own pics with high contrast lighting to track progress) and will share them here to give you a sense of my "baseline" going into this second round of treatments. Feel free to compare these to the pics I took last year following my first procedure. I will post another update in a month or two once I'm fully healed up so we can see the results
Let me know if you have any questions about my experience.A

Nope! He did massage the tumescent anesthesia around my cheeks post-subcision however to help create a spacer (to prevent retethering)

How much didADr. Rullan charge you?
I struggled to find providers on the east coast who have the same skill set and the same suite of tools as Dr. rullan. I tried seeing 5 providers closer to me and they either 1) didn't yield any positive results / progess or 2) made my scarring worse. So I decided to stop wasting my time and money and just go to a real master.A
Hello everyone! It's been 3 years but I finally got back to the West Coast to see Dr. Rullan and do a third round of treatments. We did the quatro again, as usual. Everything went great and the whole team was very supportive and organized.
Dr. Rullan is lovely to work with - he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and detail-oriented. He took his time doing each procedure, listened to my comments and concerns regarding specific scars / atrophy / asymmetry on my skin, and answered all my questions. I always learn so much when I see him and know that I'm in excellent hands.
I'm now 2 days out from the treatments and very much still healing. I am red, swollen, and bruised. But I feel great! My healing process has been smooth following the previous treatments so I'm optimistic. Can't wait to see how everything looks in 6-12 months as that collagen gets remodeled!
I'll also post pics from the exam room of my cheeks so you can compare to how I looked going into round #2. The scars are kinda hard to see in my stupid camera but trust me - they're much more obvious in person. I see them every day
Thanks to everyone who is following along on my journey! I hope to go back for a 4th round of treatments with Dr. Rullan in early 2026. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions.
Hello, friends!
I flew out of Boston this AM and have now arrived in San Diego where I am anxiously awaiting my first appointment with Dr. Rullan! We will be doing the quattro today - subcision, phenol cross, Erbium laser & fillers as needed (for spacer and for volume).A
Very excited and very nervous!! Guess I started this thread both to document my journey and to seek some support from this community. I'm no stranger to laser and microneedling, but I've never had full field subcision or tumescent anesthesia before! I'm freaking out a little bit, lol
So feel free to follow along on the journey, if you're interested - I will post before/after pics asap. Going to have them snap pics of me in theAoffice. Will likely go back in 6 months after this first appointment to do it all over again...
Please drop an encouraging word, if you're so inclined
P.S. I did add some recent pics of my scars here as well. But I will add official "before" pics once I get some taken of me at the office. I want the lighting to be consistent, so each time I see Dr. Rullan, I'll get a pic taken before the treatments and share it here.
For some reason it's letting me quote reply but not post a regular update / reply. I wanna share pics from right before my third round of treatment that I just did but I keep getting a weird error message?
