It's ironic that people are getting lasers to improve skin texture but end up with orange peel texture, dilated pores, redness, sensitized skin for months on end, not to mention possible pih or hypopigmentation. It has also been my impression that people do get some results for the scars but they arenot significant and notfor all scars . The cost is worsening of texture and problems afterwards. Another issue is that dermatologists often are not willing to talk about possible side effects openly or totally underestimate these so peopleend up regretting having done the laser in the first place.

Yeah doctors say give it time, the issue will improve (as all hope) but it is not them who have to go outside with the worsened texture or the post laser redness. 7 months is a lot. You can also try Kojic acid or arbutin cream for pih, they sometimes help. Many many people say they have had recovery issues after co2, what's worrying is that for some they are permanent. The trade-off some improvement for the shallower scar vs bad texture, pih may be worth it for some but if you have to stay home for months on endbecause of side effects it's no joke.

I've done a Palomar Icon procedure 2,5 months ago for enlarged pores/acne scars and I have tiny holes in my skin! With an orange peel texture, it's rough, sensitive, and tiny pinpoint holes representingthe grid marks.
Does anyone knowif we can hope for some improvements?
hi! do you have any updates regarding your skin condition? I also have these tiny holes on my skin
I had somewhat oily skin, but nice skin. When I turned 40 an aesthetician suggested i start tretnoin. So I did and have regretted it since ( Im now 46)..I woke one day to the orange peel look and like you, every derm that ive been to has said there isnt a problem and that it cant be from the Retin-a. But it definitely was and ive found several other people online that it did the same thing to. My skin now has a texture to it. I do not do anything excessive to my skin because it only makes it worse. I would suggest you acoid tretnoin or aha, bha even though some derms will tell you its fine. I drink no alcohol. No smoking. I exercise. Etc. I hydrate as much as possible. I alternate niacinamide and a good face oil every other night and my skin looks better than it has in years, but will never be what it was

Laser is meant for strictly scars/wrinkles . I feel so bad for people that got laser for just there pores. Those doctors are evil for doing that smh
Yeah. Shouldn't co2 laser be used to stuff like reducing deep scar borders and that type of thing? Rather than being an whole-face procedure...
Has anyones orange peel texture improved? Im week 7 and I noticeably have it under my eyes. I did C02 laser under and around eyes and fraxel dual laser on face. My face is so nice and smooth but the skin on my eyes that was treated with the stronger better laser looks worse. What can I do? How long do I wait before making a decision to fix this? Im wonder if the fraxel dual on those spots would fix it.
Hello,
i'm from Germany and i want to give you some advices. My english is not the best but i try my best. After i burned my whole skin of i also experienced this orange peel texture , horrible shiny, waxy and dry. I can't even look in the mirror, it was really bad. This texture appears when your skin barrier ist damaged. The good news are that the skin barrier can heal. Please don't put any actives like AHA, BHA, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Retinol etc. on your skin minimum for a half year. NO PEELINGS or LASERS this will make it just worse. If needed you can work on your Hyperpigmentation after you heal the barrier. No products with parfum or alcohol in this time. For healing i suggest the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast-Baume B5+ cream. Apply every day. Wash your face with a very gentle cleanser without parfum or alcohol. Please use a very good moisturizer with ceramides (again please make sure that there is no AHA,BHA, Retinol etc. in it) in the morning and before you go to bed. Before you go to bed you can layer the moisturizer as much as your skin can take (maybe 3-4 layers) and then on the top apply a layer of Aquaphor. Also use high sun protection every day. In this time you can take collagen supplements and vitamins for your skin to support the healing process. It will take time but you will do it.
@diadio Halo
Was you skin also very sensitive (kind of like rosacea) ?
@diadio How long did it take to heal the shiny waxy texture? Did your skin ever become completely healthy again? Did the hyperpigmentation fade?
