I had erbium laser two days ago, and the treated area has been quite tight and dry despite my nonstop slathering of moisturizer on the skin. The texture feels sandpapery too, which I had expected and know is normal. What I'm asking is: is it normal for my skin to feel this dry despite all the moisturizing efforts? I've been using just a supposedly hydrating moisturizer and am thinking if I need to aquaphor instead. Thanks!
If it's only been two days you're still well under the wing of the professional who administered the procedure. I would give them a call with any questions as well because post treatment healing is part of their job. Hopefully someone who has had this procedure can give their take, but I would definitely still be in communication with the office.

This is expected and, yes, you should switch over to Aquaphor. If the itch becomes too much, you could lightly dab apple cidar vinegar to the spot. Be sure to mix 1:1 with water before applying.
I've had 3 erbium laser resurfacings. The skin clinic I go to recommends an Aquaphor type productfor the first 48 hours. But they recommend switching to a good moisturizer after the first 48 hours since Aquaphor can "be too occlusive" (i.e. it can clog your pores).
I've used the Alastin line with Skin Nectar, the Recovery Balm and the Moisturizer. The Skin Nectar ispricey but encourages rapid healing. The Alastin Recovery Balm is extremely similar to Aquaphor. A lot of clinics recommend Aquaphor for at least the first 48 hours.
Your skin will be very dry and yes it feels like sandpaper. Did they give you instructions about using dilute white vinegar after your skin starts peeling? That started for me around day 3 but can start between day 3 today 5. Of course you aren't supposed to peel the skin off,or exfoliate for at least a month. My clinic gave me a small spray bottle with the very dilute vinegar to use as a spray multiple times daily. It really works well to get the natural exfoliation working.
Keep moisturizing!

I kinda regret not using aquaphor within the first 48 hours and counted on basic moisturizers to do the work haha.
I looked up the Alastin Skin Nectar and it's a bit too pricey for me.I'll try find a product with lots ofpeptide to promote collagen growth though.
I wasn't told anything about using diluted vinegar. Is it purely for the sake of speeding up the exfoliation process? Or is it supposed to help with the itchiness too? I did CROSS too and am not sure if using diluted vinegar would make the CROSS scabs fall off too soon..? Appreciate your advice a lot!

The vinegar spray solution is 1 teaspoon of white vinegar mixed with 1 cup of distilled water. The vinegar spray (or vinegar soaks) are recommended to ease itching and it helps speed up the exfoliation process. I only did the laser resurfacing so I don't have any idea how it would affect the results of CROSS.

Don't spend money on those skincare products you get from the doctor's office. They're usually tied to kickbacks from the distributor/manufacturer and you end up paying a hefty premium. I recommend you go with the Ordinary brand, which is just as good, if not better, than the name brands.

Yeah I was actually considering getting the ordinary buffet with copper peptide. The ingredients look right on spot for collagen production. Although for now Illprobably just sit back and lets my skin go throughits natural healing process.

TBH I've used CP from SkinBiology in the past but didn't find it to be all that helpful.
