TCA CROSS before all acne totally cleared up?

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone knows about whether a TCA cross could be performed before my skin is completely clear? The texture / scarring of my skin is generally ok, apart from one cystic spot which has left a deep indentation on my cheek. I think its an ice pick scar. At the moment I'm taking medication (dianette) which I think is finally really starting to work. I'm going to see Dr Chu about it next week. Also, if it can be done, does anyone know if he does TCA cross on the first consultation?

Thank you!

@Frances_18I personally would not treat your scars until getting the acne under control, you don't want to be spreading bacteria. If course if your practitioner agrees to treat ask them. It's up to Chu. Chu will do his package if comfortable on the first apt as it's self pay. To avoid any miscommunications and time issues, email him or call and ask about the acne as you have done here, you might just have to goto the consult and see what he does.

Your skin does not look bad at all, minus the active acne, and redness PIE which is wounding post acne.

Start with a acne wash for 5 mins, then wash off: BP foaming wash, or a salicylic wash. See if that works, spot treat the zits with BP cream. Sulfur soap is also a option. If it's a suborn case see a Derm to get it under control.

Ok good your taking Dianette. Chu is not the best at getting acne under control but you can try. I would see a general Dermatologist or use the online NHS resources and see if they can help you that way. I know someone got treatment through telederm that way.

I can't see your left cheek as you provided your right cheek pic.

Oh that is a great idea thank you for all those suggestions! Just wondering, how would the TCA cross have the potential to spread bacteria?

The only issue im having with dinette at the moment is that I'm experiencing quite a bit of nausea (main potential side effect) so I might have to go off it for the minute. I got duac from the GP yesterday and am waiting for a referral to an NHS dermatologist so hopefully will hear back about an appointment for that in the near future.

The other issue that I have is scarring from previous bouts of acne when I was a teenager on my forehead, its quite strange they look like over enlarged pores. Do you think something like TCA cross can target these or is it more microneedling/laser treatments?

@Frances_18It's a matter of dr's not wanting to treat you while your in this condition because of possible complications with bacteria. But perhaps he will, the 2nd picture you posted looks like you have less pimples. It's up to the practitioner. Also they don't want to be treating something there can be more of if it's not treated first."Scars."

Talk to your Dr if you are having side effects from the drug, stop it if you need to. Ok, sounds good on the NHS.

I don't see anything in that picture, ... some discoloration is a worse issue, that I see (needs treatment). If your saying you have large pores discuss this with a aesthetic dermatologist. They will most likely do fraxel 1927nm or some sort of laser / rf needling (Chu does not do this), see someone like Dr H consults in the UK if needed. They will not be gone though so be prepared for some improvement. Use a salicylic soapto clean out the pores. All skin has some pores and some people are more prone to them genetically. Also these medicines your using can cause some of that while healing.
