Hi, I've been lurking and reading the threads for a while and decided to finally take the plunge. I've learned a lot just reading and looking at all those photos you guys post.
So, from what I've read. I am going to do TCA Cross and buy the Derminator. I've decided to get the single and 9 needle. Does it matter 9 or 12?
Those $80 microneedling pens from Amazon may be too cheap. It's my face. It's already screwed up and I dont need it to be more raggedy. I wish I had simple ice pick scars like some of you but I have it all thanks to bad genetics and bad dermatologists in high school. More than ten years on, I've decided to dive in but I don't have the cash or insurance anymore since it's considered cosmetic now. Please advise me if I have it wrong. I've read the FAQ and watched Davin Lim's videos and other YT vids.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can do TCA Cross and microneedling at the same time.
TCA Cross 100%
1. wash and clean face
2. use a toothpick and dab the TCA onto the pot hole until I see frosting
3. leave the frosting alone b/c the skin will self neutralize it (Davin Lim).
4. q-tip some Retin A on there at night. I bought a bottle from Amazon. It has RetinA 2.5%, hyaluronic acid as moisturizer
5. sunscreen if going out
6. scabs should heal 4-5 days.
7. repeat in 2 weeks
Microneedling
I am buying the Derminator. Single needle, 9 needle, 12 needle available.
1. clean/wash face. Wear gloves.
2. Apply hyaluronic acid to make it easier to glide around. Maybe slap some Vit E serum on face.
3. Can go to depth of 2.5-3mm on cheeks. no more than 1.5mm on forehead and temple. Nose is 2mm? I forget. I just remember the cheeks you can go deep but don't deep on the temples and forehead b/c the fat layer is thin there and you dont want to HIT A NERVE.
4. Use back and forth motion.
5. Bleeding is ok.
6. Apply sunscreen if going out
7. Wait 6 weeks minimum before doing it again to let collagen form.
Subcision
if I can find a doctor, get subcision done. I can still microneedle and TCA at home, after the subcision. Right?
9 needle goes deeper (less needles) with the Derminator. But it does not matter.
Good on the Dermapens, I bought a few in the past to trial and they were rubbish, cause more damage than good. Derminator quality yet cheap and works well for at home DIY.
Good acid peels, tca cross, and Derminator can be done at home. Just read the FAQ pinned in the main scar treatments sub, goto the microneedling section and the acid peels section has a link to a mega guide I made on peels. You do whatever one treatment you pick once a month(rotate) or you can wait longer if need be.

Whoa, I guess I better read it over. Thanks. BA. I was going to buy the 100% b/c that's what the video from Davin Lim said he used. It's sold on Amazon by Splendora. No, I called around and there are no Vegas doctors who do it. I don't have time to go to LA right now.
I have Tazorac. It's a Retin A derivative but I am not sure if it's same use as Retin-A.
Found you two doctors, through a Google. Both do subcision and tca cross.

100% TCA is like saying I saw Dr Lim use scalpel and now I want to use it on myself. It's different at lower percentages, ... you get to 100% and bad things can happen, hence I wrote the guide for safety. The product by Splendora is not legit 100% TCA, the price would be 5 to 10 times that, and would have a certificate from the lab of ingredients and purity. This is a Chinese product as I said above. Many use these quasi 100% for moles and warts on the body where they don't care if there is a bit of scar(skin is thick there).
Tazorac is fine do that nightly till you see the above derms for consult and pick which you like.
