@royaumeI think we have here unrealistic expectations of scar revision work. You get a small percentage with every procedure. It depends on your body's ability to heal. Your Dr's expertise and skill.

He has had (correct me if I am wrong), one procedure. This is great results. No one will go in after one procedure and have glass smooth skin unless there is a miracle. It takes treatment over time (3 years for some people) and healing. I NEVER promise % (Results),... why. That is variable for everyone. I do say you will most likely get 50% improvement over time with many treatments.

If it were me I would subcise put sculptra throughout the cheek and rf needle. Why because his scars are widespread. HA can also be used but it's more expensive and does not stimulate as much as Sculptra and needing.

Sorry to use this analogy but one does not become a Jedi overnight, ... they must train,... one does not become the highest Karate level overnight. It takes steps.

Good on the OP for doing treatment and finding something to improve his scars whatever that is.

The biggest mistake I see most acne scar suffer's face today is unrealistic expectations by Photoshop, marketing, Instagram /Twitter and Youtube airbrushing. We are going to soften the scars,... not get perfect skin. That is the scar less healing sub waiting for a "miracle." My advice is do not treat unless you realize what scar work does.

I think the OP could get huge improvement with getting rid of the reds or PIE.So his skin does not show the PIE. Vascular laser is helpful for this, Picosure for ethnic patients, or Q-witch.

Everyone journey is different, treat as we have time and money, everything is optional, stop at any time, sucess is in your head as this problem bugs you individually. For many the psychological issues with a therapist are also scars that must be dealt with as it can tremendously effect the person and it's not a easy journey.

Thanks for your opinion. I already had significant improvement only with a few of your advises for preparation for the procedure like tretinoin. I will post some pics soon.

Anyways I got your point its the truth. I cannot understand why many sufferers believe the miracle results on some of the doctors websites. If anyone has a slight knowledge of photoshop or lighting difference they would not that many use cheap tricks in the before and after shots. I also can post before and afters with a slight lighting difference and many would say that they can see 80 percent improvement. I will continue with your advises because i really got significant improvement with those retinoids and even kojic acid and some other stuff.

The most important thing is to listen to experts like you.

I will update you on my progress and when I think I am ready I will go to Dr. Henningsen and do the things you mentioned as well but at this moment I see an improvement and I want to see the maximum results I get from retinoids and after this I will go to the acne scar specialists

I appreciate every thread with before and after pics so please dont get me wrong.

I had Subcision/Microneedling/Microdermabrasion on the certain scars with Dr.Safonov. I have bad scars on my forehead, several noticeable boxcars on the cheeks. Did it twice, no result. AfterDr. Suggested to do roller 2mm and also to scrub the skin with it, got new scars. Dr.Igor is good doc, listening and trying to help, but the treatment did not help. Asked ab excision- he does not do it often. Charged ab 300euro per treatment plus I had to fly to Stockholm. I had the impression he is not familiar with all methods, we tried tva spot on 2 scars, I had the impression he was not sure what he was doing. This also failed leaving bigger holes instead of old scars, in half a year it healed ok, but with white in the middle, no improvement overall. I am going to Dr.Chu in November, going to create my own post with the photoes and questions.

@SonilillyRead the FAQ - top post of the scar treatments sub. Scar treatment is based off a customized plan for your scars, a picture of your scars making shadows in your own post can help us determine treatment.

SECOND TREATMENT DONE IN 15/1

Hey guys, i met with Dr. Igor on monday and had a second treatment done. It went good except that he missed one scar but it is ok, it seemed like he was in a hurry. I will talk to him and let him finish that spot on another occasion. We did subcision, microneedling, microdermabrasion and even some fraxel laser.

I had a scar around the smile dimple line (dont know the exact name sorry) around my mouth that actually got much deeper which i am very dissapointed in. I talked to him and he thought it may have been because of the subcision and also he said it was also because i have been aging but i told him that its a real coincidence that i have aged that much on that specific spot during one month lol (had this talk with him on my 1 month check up). You will see on the photo that its pretty bad. So this time he didnt do subcision on that spot and i think he even skipped the microdermabrasion as well. He used fraxel laser instead on those areas. I will need to talk to him on how to solve this because its actually a very deep, glaring and long scar.

Other than that i believe the last treatment was a success and i made maybe a 15% improvement on the worst scars, a 20% improvement on the half bad ones and then almost a 70% on the smaller ones. Dr. Igor said that there is best improvement after the first treatment because the old thick scar tissue will be peeled of and renewed skin tissue will replace it.

Dr. Igor is a great, knowledgeable doctor who's an expert on acne scars. But sometimes the calculating goes wrong and mistakes are being made, this happens to the best. The most important thing is to take responsability for those mistakes and either offer a solution or a refund for the patient. I hope you guys are still interested in this journey and will continueing exchanging thoughts and ideas. Take care!!

PS. These photos are from today, 4 days after treatment so there is still swelling but i just wanted to show you how it looks. And also take a look at that awful scar. Damn.

I have reported the comment above as trolling, but admins have not taken action for whatever reason.
(I wont quote this person because it is just a waste of time arguing with trolls.)

So please for the rest of u who have seen obvious improvement in subcision please spread the word about this great treatment!

Here is some proof that it works. These photos are taken from Mr Matt's inspiring thread were he showcased the results following 4 subcisions!

4 MONTHS POST SECOND SUBCISION
Ok so it has been almost 1 year since i started this journey and i must say that im absolutely overjoyed with the results. My scars has improved more than 60% overall. Some almost 100% and the deepest ones about 50%. The edges are not sharp anymore and the scars depth has been lifted big time. Dr Igor Safanov is a special character who might seem like a crazy scientist sometimes but he definitely is an expert in his field and the results says everything. Its hard to find bad angles in the mirror these days because my face is so smooth. Im gonna go in for a third treatment next time but replacing subcision with tca cross after his recommendations. Stay tuned for more updates!

PS. I know that the photo quality and lightning is different because of different camera and location, but the improvements are really significant i promise.

Fantastic news. As a longtime member of the forum, I am so glad to see more success stories recently. I think the shift from a focus on lasers to things that actually work has been instrumental in this. Lasers just don't work for deep scars, and I'm glad the general public is growing more savvy to this fact that I have noticed in my own treatment over the years.

Those are amazing results for only 2 treatments of subcision/microneedling and the fraxel on the second trip. And only $550? Incredible bro congrats! I think it helped that you took the advice of your doctor and by people like BA for allowing the skin to heal and have that new collagen do it's work. I'm learning that now and not rushing my next treatment so that my skin recovers like yours.

I started last summer with laser and did 3 TCA CROSS treatments before finding out more about subcision. Those your doc do microdermabrasion before or after microneedling? Love your results and might incorporate microdermabrasion the next time I do treatments end of July or August.

subcision works best for rolling scars. Boxcars can improve but there is far too much tethering, need to break up boxcars into rolling scars with Infini, or Lasers.

hello, have you thought abour mechanical dermabrasion or manual dermasanding? in vilnus there is a verkiu clinic where doctor doing phenol peel+dermasanding. Or dermasanding with tca peel.

I see doctor Safonov has mechanical dermabrasion in offer at his website, why he didnt offer it to you? I am also curious if he performing often punch excision for ice pick scars?hard to find a doctor who can do it in Europe. If somebody knows a doctor in east europe please tell me cose I am interested in it.

Hi, I booked a consultation with dr Safonov, what are your experience with him? Will you recommend him? I will fly from Serbia to Kyev for the treatment. Thank you in advance
