I just had a non-medical chemical peel done by an esthetician maybe 2 hours ago and my skin is now really red in blochy patches. I™m wondering if I™ve been burned? I™m not sure if this is normal or it will go away or not.

Peels by theirvery nature are a controlled "chemical" burn.

You are destroying said % / to effect layers of skin depending on application.

You seem to have ethnic skin. As such you are more susceptible to PIE/PIH - Hyperpigmentation. One must start with a konjic / albutin bleachingcream 3 weeks before treatment and a week break before treatment, also retin a / tretinorin nightly to avoid PIH.

Everyone after peels get's red and has a healing period, for some it's longer than others. Especially sensitive skin types.

A moist wound is a happy wound. Vaseline, Biafine, Strataderm.

Do daily vinegar pats with (white vinegar) dilute with water, pat and don't rub. No exfoliation or exfoliation / harsh products.

Makeup is fine.

You can take weeks to months to heal. In a few weeks apply Emu oil which is helpful.

Things will heal you just need time.

I will leave @UpliftingCata note to take a look about peels, and chat with your post here. Thanks!

Your reaction looks perfectly normal for a mild peel. You dont look burned nor do I think the redness will last longer than a week. It was a very superficial peel so Im sure the redness will improve rather quickly. @beautifulambitiongave good advice although with a mild peel like this, you dont need a thick moisturizer or emollient. For peels like this, I suggest a thin layer of Vanicream, Cetaphil moisturizer or CeraVe.
