My family paid for personal insurance at the time and we had to jump through hoops to get a simple Dermabrasion covered after being disinterested by various doctors in wanting to push it. Eventually they covered it after 20 invasive pictures to insurance and a pro-active surgeon willing to push it. It was so hard to push for that most people would give up. And I paid for insurance out of pocket. 5 simple premiums would've funded it.
As getsmart said, it's criminal. In fact, I'd even go WAY further and say severe cases should be covered under disability given how hard it is to function within society.
If only we could get face tattoos to cover it. Couple of hundred, 1 session and it is invisible for life. But for now I think face tattoo would have an even worse affect on our prospects than severe scars :p

I noticed when I started doing subcision my face changed to being more chubby. Previously the face cheeks were a bit inside. Just my observation or maybe I gained fat lol
No never experienced this personally tbh. I would love to gain some fat in my cheeks lol.

Yes its offensive IMO when acne scar revision is seen as cosmetic. 100% medical. I wish we could get more support for this condition. I even feel uncomfortable saying I have body dysmorphia because this flaw is 100% real and if left untreated has so many ramifications both mental and social.
In Australia I believe you can get certain coverage via insurance for certain acne scar procedures. I think the rest of the world should follow suit to make our lives easier.

I would totally do this if it would work lol
Side note Im not sure if Im completely thrilled at the moment. I have days where I feel down about the results from the peel and then okay about the results from the peel. I have bad cysts on my chin right under the skin more than one a week it seems. I hate the rollercoaster of emotions with acne scarring. Its just so disappointing sometimes.
what i dont get folks for myself with severe acne scne scars is i would get a large skin graft over my actual scars even if its slightly different colour? i would much rather this and cover my scars
like at least in the mid section stick a big skin graft over the more pitted bigger scars
what are peoples thoughts abt skin graft idea?
also wonder those from Australia why they do not have bellafill or silikon 1000 in Australia???

Yup its deep rolling scar. It think you excision area was huge, is that why this caused? Filler are ideal , look for bellafil. Maybe too much area was excised hence caused a depression but it is a depression with sloping edges. Also it seems like there is tethering still. That is why I always think the lower area for excision the better. You are basically remove a tiny portion of skin permanently so its possible that it could create a divot.
there are silicon fillers as well if you are interested.
Getsmart121 - you are right filler is sot rt of ok but i got juvederm voluma restylane like 4-5 times and it doesnt last longer than one month??? for me anyway
went to plastic surgeon 2 times 2 different ones and they said nothing to use fat transfer/graft??? ive heard alot that fat isnt up to 5 years anyway and lasts the same as juvederm and restylane like you said doctors just hyping it up
and here in australia we dont have bellafill or silikon 1000 plus i heard they are risky???
Sorry to both getsmart121 and harmlessboy1441 as above
as for the tethering i did subcision like 4 times as in the recent 6 months and thats how my scars still look as in the picture above?
And i dont understand what do you mean by the excision area was huge? yes from those bigger scars I had 4-5 of them done excision on as circled in my photo
these incompetent doctors i am so sad and upset

I think filler alone will help but still more work could be done in raising some of the pits otherwise the filler can look a little odd. It will still help significantly IMO. However it sounds like youve spent a lot of money with not much improvement from what your posts were mentioning.

I think they are deep on but has sloping edges I believe fillers/fat/silicon should work the doctors needs to insertmore of the substance on those areas.
here is a link this guy had fillers, laser and subcision who had deep scars.

When you do filler did you do subcision and filler(sculptra) together?
this is how its done for deep rolling scars combining subcision plus filler. Read the Reddit, pictures included.
but can alot of filler improve these large boxcar scars I have at all?
and its real hard to move on with ones life when they are this big and bother me alot
these were the result of excisions i did i think as i did 6-7 scars punch excision on this side and no improvements at all
i told the doctor if she can put alot of filler in to see
and shei14 yes you are correct....i will be trying more filler soon but im doubtful but will give it a shot alot of money for me 500 dollars but what can i do i cant stand them and they are huge pits
when you mean raising folks i did like 4 sessions in the past 6 months of cannula subcision and this is a photo from yesterday!
and all my friends here this is a mobile phone camera i dunno if it makes them look worser or bigger??? but when I look in a normal mirror of most mirrors they dont never look this big actually? what are your views? (and this is mobile phone camera closeup) but they still are significant

Yup phone camera enlarge everything. The thing you see in mirror is real when it comes to scars. There is a lot that goes into capturing image. Use mirror as your absolute guide.
Was hoping to see some updates on Sheis progress, and now I am watching you again @pleasehelp321 who would do 4 subs in 6 months? Take sculptra and your journey will be over, or you will stand there like that with your mouth wide open for another 50 years. BTW I have a right to think that you didnt have even a half of treatments you mentioned. Sorry. And being completely honest with you - your scars are not even mild. Stop suffering already.
This getsmart121 is the best i have ever met....very knowledgeable and honest!!! gives acne scar sufferers real hope
candysays u are some idiot - show us your scars???
and im afaird to say so many people in real life comment that my scars are moderate and some even say what scars i have
At this point in my journey Im ready to try more unconventional methods for scar revision. Hopefully more people will talk about excision and permanent filler in the future.

Also these days cameras come with built in blurring filters

Try anything that is a leave on like acne org glycolic acid 10 percent after face wash. Bp is immediate reliever but causes irritation.
I was getting a lot of backne, nothing worked, benzoyl peroxide worked but irritated my skin it helped immediately on cystic acne but was still getting acne. Glycolic acid worked, use after face wash, its a leave on. Doesnt irritates and does the job. Hopefully you would start seeing difference in a week.

Thank you. I have a lot of pimple patches for now but might need to do that too
Does anyone get depressed knowing scars are forever?

Yes, it is depressing sometimes you wish you would have known better ways to eradicate acne when we were small. I wish there was enough knowledge back then on howto treat acne without medications. If I were to
given a chance to redo my life with acne. I am sure I will do a better job with this knowledge on how to stop acne.
But the good thing is your texture has gotten smoother the only thing you need is filler to to level up. Does anyone suffer from Smiling in pictures it just feels weird becauseyou are thinking about scars when getting pictures which makes us make weird expressions in pictures.

you look fantastic, Shei. The goal is to look good, and you are already there.

Another thing the way to look as this, think about your skin pre treatment and think that there was nothing you could have done about it. Just imagine how hopeless you would feel and then think about your current scenario where you have corrected your scars to a great extent. It will just make you more grateful. Dont compare yourself to higher person. This doesnt not only apply here. It applies everything in life. If we are poor and always look at other rich people we will always feel dissatisfied. Not matter how rich you are there will always be someone else more richer than you. The point is to look people below you and be satisfied. I know it is easier said but we need to condition ourself to look things in this manner

Yes this is important. I think my issue is Im out in the real world comparing myself to people with no skin issues and feeling like crap. I will try to compare myself to the past and how much worse it was before. Tbh I have pretty bad body dysmorphia and I get down often thinking about my condition.
